Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Beta Available, Post Your Impressions Here
After watching tweedy streams
spamming and constant pressure is still the priority the pace is unreal.2k18 fixes
Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)
Late contest on laups matter too much.
Random blocks doing pumpfakes.
Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.Comment

Eh. Play the game man. I can tell you for a fact that dudes aren't throwing nearly amount of punches per round that they did last year.Comment

I watched his stream last night. His body spam is hilarious. In regards to the ground game. I don't have the Beta but I've read GPD breakdown 4 times already. Essentially if you secure a takedown quick knees to the body or quick little punches to the body will now get you a grappling advantage. I think alot of ppl are diving into the ground with no practice or idea of how to gain an advantage.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Beta Available, Post Your Impressions Here
Tweedy's stream isnt a great example of what people will see. 1) He is one of the best players at the game. 2)He doesnt seem to play with a wide range of fighters and those tactics are only good with certain fighters. For example, constant pressure worked against me when someone used Alves but the same guy tried that with Ryan LaFlare and I starched him. 3) This is just my opinion but his goal is to win at all costs so some of his tactics may be questionable but its not really spamming if you can do things to stop the spam....the issue is most people arent good enough to avoid it right now.Comment

Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Beta Available, Post Your Impressions Here
The ground game is nice, I think with practice it could be pretty fun. Right now, having to look at the grapple assist, it doesn't allow me to react quickly enough to block transitions consistently. The striking seems to have more power (able to KO with straight punches, etc.), and the physics based KOs are awesome looking, although sometimes when you're throwing strikes at each other the fighters look like rubber, flopping around a bit too much. Blocking using both high / low is pretty tough, if you're trying to gauge your opponent and react accordingly, rather than just holding one of the buttons.
Also, the weird thing where my fighter will switch stances coming out of takedown defense or standing up is still there...
Overall, the beta is already a huge improvement over the first game.Comment

I like being able to cancel transitions on the ground. I was able to wear out a guys stamina doing that and tapped him out when all his energy was gone.
Feints still feel awkward to me when hitting the buttons. I'm sure I'll get used to throwing them the more that I play.Comment

I could be wrong but the ground game reminds me of MK. What I mean is in MK you essentially have to pick a character and memorize all their combos and moves. Same here on the ground. You will need to repeatedly practice with one fighter so you don't need the HUD and know exactly what he can and can't do from each position.Comment
