Re: Official EA UFC 2 Q/A Thread

    I'm having a problem:

I'm doing everything better than my opponents in every round in the match, yet they are winning the match. I've noticed that my opponents are throwing more strike attempts than me, but my number of hits and percentages are higher than theirs. Could it be a glitch ? it is very strange than I'm losing every single online match that this occurs. Maybe it is just coincidence, but it is kind of annoying .

It is part of the Reebok line of fight kits that fighters can wear.

          Hi Silverskier,

Judging in EA UFC 2 can sometimes be frustrating, similar to real life MMA. You may think you have won the stand up battle, but the judges may have given the decision to your opponent.

I'll assist you with a hint regarding how to win decisively on the judges score cards.

There is a judge that thinks stand up is key to victory. There is a second judge who believes grappling is the key to victory. There is also a third judge who believes both stand up and grappling are needed to ensure victory and weigh's them evenly.

If you have dominated grappling and striking, you will win a decision without a doubt. The questionable judging calls mostly stem from a fighter winning in stand up, but being out grappled or taken down a couple times. If you believe you are winning in the grappling department, you should attempt to grapple for the majority of the round, otherwise judge three may weigh the striking above grappling when he decides his winner for the round. If you are a striker, you better strike better for the majority of the round, otherwise judge three may consider grappling as the key factor in his decision.

Ensure your gameplan is being brought to your opponent. Take the fight to where you believe you have the upper hand. But, if it is a close round during a stand up fight, quickly shoot for a takedown and be successful with grappling in the last minute of the round. You may then have the winning round with the grappling judge for insurance. Vice versa for a grappler.

Is there a specific percentage for the bias?

Hey guys is anyone having trouble using Mark Hunt or any other shorter fighter against the lanky guys like werdum, jones, etc.?

He doesn't have alot of stamina so it needs to be preserved but his movement is pretty bad. So if i get out of range of the lengthy attacks and make them miss i cant close the distance to counter. If i get just outside of punching range then i get eaten up with body kicks.

So far the only way i have been able to use him effectively is to stay in there face and eat shots while trying to parry. Blocking some shots can work but it seems like it takes to much stamina from him in the long run. Anybody else have any ideas?

Do you guys watch the fights and adjust stats accordingly? If not what about picking knowledgeable members here that watch the fights to provide input on stat changes? Surely some people here watch every fight from fight pass prelims to main card.

Before anyone freaks out I am not knowledgeable enough in mma to give input on such things.

I actually like the judges on this game.

I had one match where I got wrestlefu**ked for 3 rounds and I won the decision. At first glance we both thought he should've won and believe me he was annoyed he didn't. I got up 5 or 6 times. I won all the brief stand up exchanges he pretty much did nothing and on the ground he didn't do a lot was just kind of laying on me all the time. I was transtioning the whole time and he may have only got mount once very briefly.

Judging is subjective and the problem with gamers is that they're biased and always think they won. They only remember what they did in the fight and not what they're opponent was doing/landing.

Ok dear people, I need help regarding the Career Mode.

How do one gets the Career Awards there? As it's not explained ANYWHERE?!

                          You got:

Fight of the Night (I guess here, all conditions must be fulfilled when fighter challenge comes out, but not sure?)

                          Knockout of the Night

Submission of the Night (got this one, but dunno why? Got ones in 1st Round as soon as 1 minute into fight, this one is 2:03 Round 2?)

                          Fight of the Year

                          Knockout of the Year

                          Submission of the Year

I would be grateful if someone explained HOW do you get those awards.

Was going to make a new thread to properly discuss this but I not allowed to.

How do you keep someone in back mount? They can rotate 180 to full mount every single time it seems, at lightning speed.

Is this a known problem? Does anyone else think so?

Its a hard position to get out of in real life, but incredibly easy to get to mount in the game. Zero time to land punches or get in a rear naked.

                              That's a very good point.
I can't hold someone there to save my life tbh. Like you said, they just roll over into full mount.

I asked this in another thread but no response(probably wrong place to put it), was wondering what directions block flying submissions while in the clinch if you can?

Also to the ppl who wonder about the judging from what i have seen it appears another factor the judges seem to use is either agggresion ie always chasing the fighter or the fighter who holds the centre of the octagon ie if your running around the outside of the octagon while the other guys is inside the black octagon lines, the guy inside the lines gets the decision. i believe its one of these but cant figure out which one
