      When you are postured up in dominant mount how do you deny the heel hook sub or whatever it is?

        I agree with a lot of this. Just think about what rubber guard is, and apply these things accordingly. It isn't super easy to get into, but once there, you have a lot of control of posture. As for punching, you don't have much strength but can certainly pitty pat and cut with elbows , however, the opponent had a free arm to do decent damage with body punches.

          I believe R2 + up. Although I haven't tested this. The Heelhook is initiated with direction up, so I think that's how it would be denied also.

          Rubberguard drives me insane.

          I absolutely HATE clowns that just spam RG over and over and over and over again. For some reason it's so incredibly easy to get into, and so frustratingly hard to deny. Drives me nuts.

            If it makes you feel any better, I can't figure out how to block transitions out of rubber guard once I get someone in there.

            The foundation of rubber guard seem kind of silly on this game. It something for which difficulty initiating should be determined by size/dexterity and I guess stats. Wrestlers and top pressure passers etc should make it a pretty tough position to enter. However, if you have someone in the position, it's not very easy to get out, especially for 95% of MMA guys who weren't previously on the world class BJJ circuit.

            I'd prefer rubber guard be easier to deny as the top player, but harder to escape. It should be a game of patience once the positions is established. One in which either fighter is penalized for mistakes (often rushing -- spamming in this case). A guard player will slowly work toward isolating the arm (Shawn Williams guard, for example) or look for little openings for quick elbows. Same idea for the top guy; spammed transitions out should be punished, but methodical decisions and timing should allow for a nicely executed transition out
