How to get the animation where fighters pass out from choke submissions?

Last night while I was playing career mode, I fought Johny Hendricks and when I slapped on a Gogoplata, I saw something completely new - he passed out during the submission and instead of tapping, he went limp. In fact, Joe Rogan even called it out on commentary.

I had never seen this before, so I tried it again in my next fight with Patrick Cote and he just tapped. Rogan did not call it out

Is there a certain formula or conditions that have to be met for a fighter to pass out instead of tap out from choke submissions? IE: Stamina must be zero, or something?

My fighter is at Welterweight and has 85 submissions for joint and choke (both max).

i used to love that in the old game especially when playing against a spammer and you litteraly choke them out cold sometimes the reff didnt jump in and you keep holding the choke palhares style until they are actually dead then push the rotting carcass off

I agree with it being random. I'm surprised you hadnt seen it before. I feel the pass out like half the time lol.

Me personally...

I don't like when they pass out, looks dum and makes me feel like the refs suck more then they already do in this game.

I'm glad they added the lil tap then stare down after you tap out, to me that looks more realistic then just passing out.
