Would you like to see more incentive to use the lower ranked fighters?

Seems such a waste to have 250 fighters in the game and no one use them.

Maybe an equal stats mode or something?

In the first game I always used the lower ranked guys, I feel like I put myself at to much of a disadvantage in this game.

In ranked no one is picking an 85 rated guy, and even in quick match I go to pick an 85 rated guy, and I'm like nah.

Guys like Ilir Latifi (85) Norman Park (84) Ross Pearson (84) and Rustam Khabilov (84) are pretty good fighters in real life yet garbage in the game.

I used Pearson all the time in the first game.

I just play Unranked and use low tier guys. It's still fun beating the champs....

I think featured fighters was a huge step in the right direction but too many times I've seen a champ or a higher tier fighter in there. I have fun using the featured fighters but I don't think enough points are rewarded for using them.

Featured Fighter is a good idea; and I like the +1 point if you choose a lower fighter

They just need to up the ante a bit

i.e. if I choose OVR 87 and my opponent is OVR 94....7 point difference...instead of just getting +1 point for the OVR difference; should get at least 3 points

Some would even say you should get an extra point for every point of OVR difference...I think that's a little too extreme...but for a 7 point difference, i think +3 points for stat difference would be great

I'd rather see people LOSE points for picking Champions. Some guys only play with OP'd champs, and it sucks. Here is how I see it:

Lower ranked fighters: (+1) for use, and additional +1 for the win against lower Mid fighters and (+2) For beating champion.
Mid level fighters: (+0) for use, and additional +1 for win and (+1) additional points for beating champions.
Champions: (-1) for use, and no additional points for the win. (-2) for losing to a lower ranked opponent, and (-1) for losing to a mid level fighter.

These points are added to what you already receive for a normal online win. I think this will discourage people for always picking champions, and start picking lower fighters..

I don't think that's entirely fair to take points away for using a fighter. I just think it should be a higher reward for people using featured fighters or lower ranked fighters in general as it's a risk.

But I feel my best fights have come from me using a featured fighter as I'm forced to think, use strategy and out smart my opponent.

I think just losing like an extra 5 points when losing to a lower tier fight will work for the higest rated guys and it goes down from there.

Plus you dont lose enough points to get demoted at the moment your stuck in the divison your in for good even if you go 50 50 in your fights

If i was a developper, i would make +14 points for stat difference, +14(7 overall difference Multiplied by 2).
Like this, u will see who are the real player on top of the leaderbord who use low tier fighter.)

Re: Would you like to see more incentive to use the lower ranked fighters?

Now this is the topic I'm looking for.

You can't really blame players for choosing Jon Jones and Conor McGregor over and over again because there's absolutely no incentive whatsoever to use any fighter other than the best in each division.

I use Kyoji Horiguchi more than any other fighter at flyweight, and I fight Mighty Mice all day. When I beat him I literally get one extra rank point. One extra rank point. ONE extra rank point.

Mighty Mouse is a 95 overall. 'Guchi is a 90, and has no chance grappling with a competent Mighty Mouse (or Cejudo or Benavidez for that matter). One extra point just isn't nearly enough for any normal player to want to choose anyone other than the best guy in the division.

I've had fights with lower rated fighters where it felt impossible to win, and I'd only win some of these fights because my opponents who were using the higher rated fighters were just horrible and had no idea what they were doing. But you can feel a significant difference between fighters when their ratings are so far apart, and simply put, you don't get rewarded for using the lower rated fighters. So why pick them unless you're looking to lose rank points?

The featured fighters are the only (generally) lower rated fighters that are worth using because you get the extra 5 points, but for me I get the same featured fighters over and over so I get pretty bored of using them. I used to use all 5 of them every day, but there's so many fighters that pop up repeatedly that I'm just tired of using.

tl;dr - everyone will continue to pick the best fighters in each division until we're given some real incentive to pick lower rated fighters. This is one of the things I see people complaining about the most with this game and the last one. Why not just reward us better (or at all) for using lesser fighters?

One rank point is not sufficient.

To be honest I don't really get the "more points" angle, because nobody I know cares about points at all, at least not as much as getting a win in the first place.

Also, why should you care about more points for the lower rated fighters, when you're more likely to lose using them and not get the points in the first place? It's nice if I'll get 50 extra points for winning using Pat Barry, but what am I gonna do against a Cain/Werdum in Div6?

There's a lot of Cain/Werdum players who are trash. You know that. I'd even say the majority of the players who pick fighters like Werdum/Jones/Conor/Joanna in every fight that they have are pretty bad at the game.

I know what you're saying. If you're going to lose the fight anyway what's the point in getting extra points for the win? Well, what reason do we currently have to use the lower rated fighters at all? None. If we get more rank points that's a great reason. Maybe you don't care about rank points but a lot of people do whether you realize it or not, especially the ones who play ranked on a regular basis and try to work their way up the leaderboards.

I think we can all agree that it's annoying fighting the same fighters over and over and each division, amirite? If you want that to change at all the only way it's going to happen is if everyone has more incentive to use other fighters. Currently we have no reason to do that, so why would we expect to fight anyone other than Werdum, Jones, Conor, etc.?

If you don't care about rank points you can just play in unranked all day every day, and that's fine. But some people like to be a little more competitive than that. That's not an insult directed at you or anyone else; it's just the truth. Unranked doesn't suffice for a lot of players, and most of the people who do play in ranked get tired of fighting the same fighter in each division every time.

I think you misunderstand me. It's not that people don't care about points, it's that people care much more about their W/L ratio. I pick lower rated fighters all the time because I refuse to join the army of cheap JBJ spammers, but if I picked champions only my record would be a lot better. All I'm saying is that we need a better incentive than just points, although I just don't know yet what that should be.

How I see it, I want less the points the better. Wanted to stay in Div 2/3 forever haha. Also the extra 2 points for searching all fighters doesn't appeal to me at all.
