    Side Control/ Crucifix tips

Any tips for getting out of this? Been running into tons of guys who keep putting me in it lately. If I'm able to transition, they go right back to it.

I use a ton of fakes. Just keep spamming fakes to avoid damage then randomly go for a transition. It's your only chance.

If you get put in side control you're better off letting them mount you than getting put in crucifix. Always be ready to deny towards them.

          Re: Side Control/ Crucifix tips

          Side control/crucifix is little OP

In crucifix they dont need to deny on reaction , you have 2 options to escape so you have 50/50 chance to guess right, if you do the stamina drain is really big and now you can deny on reaction.

What happened if they dont deny on guess? you land in back side when they deny full guard so you need to go to sidecontrol and repeat the whole process.

Guys like Sant clair chapa + others(you cant deny his transistions) plays with this strategy all the time.

I asked for help in this thread : http://www.operationsports.com/forum...success-3.html but i think nobody had solution.

          2k18 fixes

Bigs can cover to much ground on defense(they are too fast)

Late contest on laups matter too much.

          Random blocks doing pumpfakes.

Leaning shots for guys who have catch and shoot badge should be removed.

I don't seem to run into this and when I have, like someone else in the thread said, just spam transitions and then commit to one and you'll get out. Just be ready to deny left then get to sprawl from side control and stand up, it's what I do.

Wasn't really much of an issue until I hit division 6. Before I just had to deal with guys trying to clinch me all match. This seems to be the go to move now.

My guy in UT is built around ground and pound and slams, with 100 top game if I can get someone to side control its usually game over.
My advice would be avoid getting taken down in the first place

Thanks for your contribution to the thread, but that isn't helpful in the least bit.

Well the premise of the thread is stupid to begin with. It's like asking what's the counter to if some has a rare naked chock locked in ... Same as saying what's the counter to someone hitting me with a straight....
If it's already happened then it's too late you've made a mistake or two and need to deal with the consequences.

Now if you are in crucifx your options are
                      * transition fake constantly to avoid damage but you'll eventually be denied / stamina drained and they'll go to SC - > mount and finish you off or submit
                      * transition fake smart and eventually get to side control / saddle. From saddle you can at least block to build GA
                      * use some actual skill and arm trap since its bloody easy as **** to do and certainly requires less effort than making a forum post about it

Also I think it should be pointed out that if you're put in crucifx it means you've made multiple mistakes to be put in that position. Try to eliminate them

I think the good information you do have is difficult to see through the sarcasm dripping from it. You have some knowledge to offer; let's offer it without the "I'm better than you" tone, if you don't mind.

Although conveyed in a ****y way, segap has a point. Avoid getting put there and if you do, be smart and take your time.

i agree that the position is abit too strong atm, but i see alot of people panick, which leads them to instant failure to get out.

Once you get stuck in that position you need to be composed and think in advance as well as the options you have to escape.
