Bridge and then escape to Back Side DOM or Bridge and escape to Back Mount completely real quick off my head.

Also having an option to bridge and hit an armbar from bottom Side Mount could work too.

I looked for a couple examples on YouTube but that's so littered with unqualified people teaching fantasy techniques that I couldn't pull anything up.
Fishingtime sent me a video on twitter just now, although I don't particularly like the technique in the video, it did get me thinking that something setup from face pressure from the bottom might be a nice clear "up" tell.

I'll think about it a bit more.

I think we'd be better off with something that goes to half guard, than something that sweeps to a dominant position.

Another fast transition would have a lot more value I think, and sweeps are all much longer.

Suggestion: There is a real No-Gi from Side Control bottom transition into a Sprawl that an up/down tell would be perfect for IMHO. If i can find a video i'll link it. Forgot name, been a while since i practiced reps at the gym on it.

I know you can't add new moves/transitions/animations to this version, but for next game this would IMHO keep the ground game fresher than keeping the same lines of transitions. Guard to Half, Half to Side, side to Mount. Some new transitions to other positions would keep the ground game more open and fluid.

EDIT: Found a good video to show it. The TELL for me would be the hand slipping under the body. Guard or Sprawl is available from this transition so, might be a good option.

EDIT 2: the whole video has some good ideas in it. after the transition i was talking about there is another good sweep w/locking the head up with the legs from the head pressure another user was suggesting as a TELL.

I know these aren't the most high percentage in real MMA/Grapling, but EA wants flashy, neat to watch animations that also work. i think these look good enough and have large enough tells to be viable options.

Send me the video if you find it ASAP.

I agree about transitions that take you out of the predictable flow being the best.

It's not completely out of the question something could be added to UFC 2.

But it's far from a certainty that it could either.

The one you linked to is basically the SUB darce transition that's already in the game (not a fan of how we captured it, but it's the same setup).

Head pressure feels like the best tell to me...

I can film a couple tonight and send to you to show you what I am talking about. Do you accept DMs on Twitter? Probably easier than me trying to explain it through text.

Obviously not bashing you for sharing it but that video you linked is probably the biggest reason I hate seeing people without credentials posting "techniques" on YouTube. There are so many things just absolutely wrong with the techniques in that video.

Cool deal, I will send over some videos before class tonight. They might not make the cut but they are real life escapes and a submission from Side Mount bottom that could add to the depth.

No no no what is it an effing RPG? We need to be able to sprint forward and not only when the game decides to get into a "finish the fight" state where you can't even kick or anything you can only bull rush with hooks. We need MORE controls, not LESS

Fans of the sport know that when fighters are rocked they will usually move backwards even faster than how you can in-game unless they are trying to mask it. Give us tools to close the distance!!! Dashes are too slow and clunky, you can't dash and keep moving forward, it stops you and gives your opponent more time to walk backwards, and even if it works it will reduce way more stamina than it should. Which all of this together makes the whole stand up a joke and reducing movement speed while backing will just support a broken state of stand up mechanics.

Moving backwards slower also doesn't fix the problem. We tried it.

It's a problem with the striking as you say, not the speed if the retreat.
