    Bigg Cee, what would you think of a system for subs that just takes the deny windows a little further?

    As someone who plays with all the indicators off, i have to read my opponents movements on the ground and really learn Grappling in a much closer way to how you learn it at a gym. Learning movements and position possibilities is much more effective, IMHO.

    So, what if instead of submissions going to a mini-game they just continue through the 3-4 stages using left/right transition inputs and the opponent being subbed has to read and defend? This seems far superior of a system to me when i think of it. No reason to transition to a mini-game when transitions/denies are a better way to represent how submissions actually are applied.

    Just spit balling, haven't really thought about the pro's and con's too much, but the idea just hit me today when playing.

    EDIT: What i like about this idea is...
    1. No SubHud to clog up the screen. Nothing extra at all.
    2. Forces people to learn the game instead of quick ways to win. If you don't know what a Gogoplata setup looks like then good luck reading the second stage left/right tell for you to deny, and so forth through the rest of the tells until you get subbed. Should have learned the game instead of relying on cheap, quick ways to win.

    Sub game would kind of be like a Rock/Paper/Scissors for 3-4 stages.

      Someone from EA, not some internet troll, but someone from EA explain to me how my sub gates always go at a snails pace whether I'm applying or defending and my opponents always go so fast it's all but impossible to keep up with them.

      Seriously, what am i missing if I'm doing something wrong, because I'm pretty positive that my gates are moving so slowly my opponent doesn't even have to defend. It's completely ridiculous.

      I also have the sub perk that's supposed to make my gates go faster. I'm wondering if they F'd up on this perk and it actually does the opposite, maybe? Something isn't right with the submission system when playing online. It's just so broken.

      EDIT: Instead of making another thread I'll also do my post patch complaining here. ... F me, everybody just clinches after the patch. You take so much damage from knees/elbows in Thai Clinch even when blocking that all it takes is 3-4 clinches and you're done. It's crazy online now, just Clinch, Clinch, Clinch, Clinch, Clinch.

      I totally understand that in reality the Thai Clinch is that nasty, but also in reality we have way more options to get, defend, and avoid even being put in that situation. In video games we don't so, there needs to be a balance between realism and, well, the fun factor IMHO.

      Clinch is really that dangerous, but it's not realistic that 10/10 fights i had earlier were against people just trying to clinch over and over, you hardly see a clinch in MMA these days. There is something unbalanced now and the word is out there for people to take advantage.

      Probably some YT guy made a video being like "All you have to do is Clinch over and over, it's so easy to win" and now everybody does it. But, still it's super frustrating that i can't actually play a fighting game in a fighting mentality. I have to play it in an "Avoid spam and cheese" type of way where all i do is get better at avoiding spin kicks and flying knees instead of actually getting better at the fight game.

      Gripe number 3 - HEAT SEEKING STRIKES. Can we get rid of this already, please? Completely negates another game mechanic, dodging because even if i play right the game is like "Nope, opponent has training wheels applied". Losing so many online fights because i timed a sidestep perfectly and my opponent just adjusts his handstand Capoeira kick in mid spin 90 degrees and drops me.

      Gripe number 4 - Blocking body while leaning back. Seems everybody is doing this now. All you do is Parry the low attacks because not even a flying knee can hit your head when leaning back, and just shove off any clinch/td attempt. pretty OP IMHO.

      Gripe number 5 - Strong strikes take precedent over weak strikes. Sorry, but my combos shouldn't be getting beat on speed by a Rampage hook. throwing my fastest strikes available i still get stopped dead in my combo's by my opponents constantly somehow. My fighter just freezes up and i get hit with a series of strikes all of a sudden. Opponents constantly throwing precision strikes while taking a jab or cross, or even a shin to the head. This has to stop.

      I implore EA to work on the core mechanics of the game before adding any more fancy and flashy maneuvers/techniques that in the end leave a bad taste in potential customers mouths because they were obviously rushed in as an after thought. At least, I'm hoping that was the case because to allow these flashy maneuvers to be invincible so as to play towards the casual gamers is irresponsible at best.

      I know money talks and BS walk, but i don't see how anyone can actually feel proud about this release. Sure, it has potential and i would be excited about the future, but the Dev's have to realize what a mess they created in this version.

      Better luck next year, guys. Hopefully you stop, take a breath, and think about it before implementing anymore game changing ideas.
      I have the SAME problem, it s not even sub it s denies of TDs, clinch, transitions, delayed parry, block, delayed striking etc.
      seems usual EA netcode is giving again laggers advantage

      it s really killing game imho and another poor game mechanics just encourage laggers to abuse and spam same things again and again

      for sub, I think they re gates are so fast, because they re in front of u 0,5-1sec at least so u cant even see that on ur screen
      and they re good blocking ur gates, because they have 0.5-1sec advantage while u got this delay, that s why ur gates are so slow
      same goes for other things, and it s turning game into turn based nonsense

      and while I my strikes end up in air with lagger just avoiding it, they don't seems to have any problems

      I am host in most of games
      and I am tired of this nonsense when jiu jiutsu specialist have extreme trouble to submit boxer with no sub ground skills and then I got submit by somebody with no sub skills and zero stamina
      or game acts like 85 striking speed is same as 69 striking speed and other wonders

        You know, i was expecting a 50/50 of people arguing over whether this is a real thing, BUT it seems it's pretty unanimous that there is a problem with the submission system for online use.


        IMHO it needs to be dropped and replaced by a system that doesn't rely on timing and more on actual skill of knowing and seeing what's happening. RECOGNIZING what your opponent is setting you up for is key to surviving on the ground in reality. Staying steps ahead and getting your opponent lost in the transitions and scrambles.

        No reason to even have a sub mini-game. just keep the transitions and denies going into subs.

          Before 'fixxing'/changing the core game mechanics,they should first get that god awfull matchmaking system to work,instead of putting people from 2 different continents to play.

          After that,they should remove those combo stuns and instead add stuns to strikes that are powerfull,not those where u build up combo multiplyers.

          They should corellate backwards movement speed,depending on their stamina,instead of having someone go forth unload all his got and be able to walk back with 1% stamina as fast as the other guy who is almost full and instead is forced to strike the air with that bull****.

            I agree. But not only UT is cancerous but the game itself.

            Seriously those 2 gates flying submissions needed to be changed since release. This is an easy win for people.

              the clincher is all thats online now. they dont know how to fight but they have a 90% chance of knockdown or knockout (especially with the latency)

              i just had a fight with 15 Knockdowns from a clinch spammer and i couldnt do anything because the controls dont work online with huge latency

              its a shame this game has so much potential but is a literal gamble not skill

              with skill you get better etc. but5 when your inputs dont take its like your not even controlling your guy.

              and inputs dont work OFTEN in UFC 2. need preemptive denials too or at least a weak block.

              maybe this is WHY we had a weak block in the last game (UFC 1 was literally 10 times better and more consistent when it came to gameplay. this game is a roll of the dice
              striking animations are WAYYYYY to long (there by allowing what we now term as "Free Hits")

                I just got subbed with 100% stamina and lvl 4 escape artist to a scrub with with ZERO stamina. This should not happen under any circumstance.
