Re: EA Sports UFC 2 Game Update 1.07 & Content Update #4 Available Now - Details Here
ya 4 patches and still the AI is bad plus other stuff that has not even been touched.
I just don't get it. I know offline in this game is made for casuals and maybe when this game dropped they wanted them to feel like they had a chance so they made everything easy, but to me the AI is broken, and I know someone will say do this and do that but still, I want a finshed game with AI that can fight, not me having to dum myself completely down to make up for a broken system every game with every fighter. They all play the same each fighter on the roster, sure some go for takedowns a lil more, but they all play the same since the stamina is broken for the AI. There's just no personality to offline in the game. It needs a MAJOR OVERHUAL!!!
Enough is Enough!
BTW I like to vent, but I'm still playing UFC 2 everyday. lol
UFC 1 - Was easy on every level but Pro where the AI became parry and sway gods.
EA MMA - Ground game was easy on top levels and impossibly hard on others when it came to subs.
UD3 - Standup was great but clinch and ground was easy even on the highest level.
I wont even talk about the first two undisputed games when it comes to AI.
Dont get me wrong stamina management is still an issue on Pro but that doesnt appear to be the only issue you have with the AI.
I guess I dont know what you are expecting. If you are a good player, most of the time you are going to be able to beat any AI unless the AI is cheating.Comment

What MMA game have you played where the AI gave you a consistent challenge without dumbing it down or cheating?

After several more matches the stamina thing is much better on Hard than Pro, and honestly if the AI had stopping power on Hard and protected its head a little better it would probably be about right. General movement could use some work as well though, like backing away when hurt with low stamina. Clinch and ground are fine as they are.
It's kind of good news because it feels a lot closer to an AI that can provide a challenge but it's still not good enough for me to start my Universe, so back on the (digital) shelf the game goes until the next patch unless I get the itch to play online.Teams: Minnesota Vikings, Cincinnati Reds, Marshall Thundering Herd, Virginia Tech Hokies (2010 alum)Comment

it's also about offline too. It's bad enough we have bad stamina by the AI which then kills the whole fight, but it's also the lack of OFFLINE personality that UFC 2 is lacking, and since we have bad AI it makes everything just fail towards offline fun.
Now sure a normal casual it's holding them over, but for me (yes I know I'm not special) it just does not cut it.
Offline needs a 100% makeover and new audio and new AI that can hold its own and not be patched to death just to make it playable.Comment

LOL. Well I dont know what to tell you. People love to talk about realism and how they want the game to be sim. Well "sim" isnt EVERY single fighter being able to parry and sway like they are Anderson Silva in their prime and that was UFC 1. Especially when the #1 complaint most people had against Pro AI in UFC 1 was that they were parry gods.
If you refuse to use house rules, the AI is never going to be for you. Unless Skynet chooses to just cheese up Pro AI which isnt what most people dont want. Hopefully when Skynet gets back from vacation next week he can work on the AI's stamina some more for the next patch.Comment

Other than the fact that there arent signature moves and a limited total moves database, I dont know what you mean.Comment

To be honest I was OK with the cheating in UFC 1. I just want to not be able to win on my feet every time. An AI that cheats (on the highest difficulties) is better than an AI that cannot compete.
After several more matches the stamina thing is much better on Hard than Pro, and honestly if the AI had stopping power on Hard and protected its head a little better it would probably be about right. General movement could use some work as well though, like backing away when hurt with low stamina. Clinch and ground are fine as they are.

My suggestions for pro is lower the overall aggression and fix its stamina management.
I'm not hopeful that they will increase the stopping power because I'm not sure they can just isolate that to offline.Comment

What does this mean? Fighters have different movesets and different perks (limited amount of total moves to choose from though). Some fighters use the clinch. Some attempt takedowns. I know for a fact that some fighters will never attempt takedowns. Some will constantly look for subs while others wont at all. On Hard, fighters have different levels of aggression.
Other than the fact that there arent signature moves and a limited total moves database, I dont know what you mean.
What else is there to do besides play career mode? and please don't say that boring mode called "knockout mode"
I guess make a UFC event but that gets old and since there's bad AI what point is it to play anyways...
Do you see a trend here??? lol ITS PLAIN AND CLEAR TO SEE!
BTW career mode is horrible!Last edited by Bigg Cee; 06-02-2016, 10:24 PM.Comment

I guess the hopes of EA seriously addressing stamina are gone. They just refuse to tax a guy for being overly aggressive. It's so frustrating.Being kind, one to another, never disappoints.Comment

****, I completely agree that the offline modes are lacking. Career mode wasnt significantly improved. KO mode is really only for when you have people over.
Event mode is useful to me because I've been running an offline universe since 2009 but most people are nerds like me and arent willing to do that. If I'm still a gamechanger for UFC3, I will push that they add a bunch of features/modes that focus on the offline player.
With that said, even if the AI was great it wouldnt change that the offline modes are lacking.Comment

This is cancer talk that I just put in bold for you...My friend, how can you even say that, if the AI was up to par I would not mined playing quick match over and over or play career mode with every real roster fighter, or having amazing events to play, but NO you can't because the key ingredient to offline success is GAMEPLAY, and AI falls under that category.Comment

THIS IS 100% NOT TRUE!

AI doesnt make the mode. It makes the mode more enjoyable. If Madden had A+ AI but no franchise mode and all you could play is quick games....no one would buy Madden.
I'm not saying that the AI doesnt need improving because it does.
I'm saying that I dont believe that AI isnt a complete substitute for empty game modes.Comment
