I'm definitely a boxer/wrestler at heart, so I'm far from a 'kicking expert', but over the past month or so I've really started to work some nice roundhouse body kicks into my game.
It's paying dividends!
In this past LEC I decided to try and take my kicking game to the next level by throwing some front kicks/push kicks/TEEPs into my flow. But pretty quickly I found out this was a bad idea.
Why?
NO stopping power. Even if a guy is charging at me 110% and I time a body front kick PERFECTLY it doesn't even slow him a tiny bit. He eats it and just plows forward.
At least the body roundhouse kick can slowdown (or even stun) opponent --- but after awhile I found that throwing any sort of front kick to the body was all but worthless.
Thoughts??
I know it was Bantamweight but still....
I'm sure this is not new news to most of y'all but thought I'd get your opinion.
Would love to see stopping power/damage of body kicks boosted a good amount, especially if someone runs into it at full speed and it connects at the ideal range/extension of the leg
...and in return, strikes to the body don't 'charge up' the combo multiplier.
