Debating on buying UFC 2 - a few questions

Hey guys just a few questions in regards to UFC 2.

I'm not a huge UFC fan but I like good sports games and in-depth ones. I did play last year's game and thought it was ok but nothing amazing.

    1. How does this year's game compare to last year in terms of gameplay and presentation?

    2. How is the career mode this year? Is it in-depth? Last year's wasn't all that fun from what I remember.

    3. Would you recommend this game to someone else?

I was honestly debating whether to buy this or WWE 2k16.

    Thanks for your time.

Id wait for the free trial they are doing and then try it for yourself.

The game is only good for its online multiplayer IMO.

Career mode is copy and paste from last year.

Ultimate Team is a nice touch but if you are starting late you will just get crushed by guys who have every move.

Game play and presentation are pretty much the same, new ground game... but its still nothing amazing.

Id only recommend this game for someone who solely wants 1vs1 online comp.

    That's just me though.

It is definately better than last years for sure. Better gameplay, more fighters, better graphics.

There are still some annoying flaws, would be better if the damage was a bit higher etc, but I love it. Havent had it out my machine since I bought it on release, genuinely. And Im still not great at it, but really enjoy it

Ultimate Team is a real game changer for me, gives you targets each day to hit and trying to grind your way to cards you want is excellent, again though it has some faults in how it works.

Would defo recommend it but, and definately over 2k16 as someone who has played both.

I look at it this way, when it comes to an authentic mma experience I'll give it a 5/10 but if you don't care to much about realism and want a fun beat'em up then it's a 7/10 the gameplay is good but the lack of features is what really affected the overall enjoyment for me.

If you a casual fan of UFC and MMA, I recommend you this game. But If you a hardcore fan of UFC and MMA, it's very different story. You will very disappoint about lack of realistic gameplay because of this game is close to arcade even EA UFC1 is more realistic than EA UFC2. Honestly, a career mode is really terrible compared with 2K series. I have seen a lot of players who first play this game, they tell me the same said 'what the xxxx, this game is very sluggish. there is very input lag and feels unresponsive when you the play the game first time before you adapt it.

I would definitely recommend this game; it's 10x better than the first

Still needs some help in certain areas --- especially Career, which sounds important to you, so you may not like that

But overall the gameplay is much much better; presentation is pretty decent too; with some cool new online modes as well.

Even the most casual fan who will only put 20 hours into it will have fun I think, although the more time you put into learning the nuances, the more fun it is!! It's pretty deep especially the clinch and ground game

If you do get it I recommend sticking it out to learn the gameplay mechanics a bit esp. The grapple hud. I almost quit before figuring that out and thought how frustrating it was but once you get use to the grappling, you don't have to take your eye off the action as much.

I agree with Morgan. I enjoy the game, but that's because I only play online. It's not really worth your time for single player stuff.

Re: Debating on buying UFC 2 - a few questions

I've only really played online mode. I was late to the party as well, just got the game a few weeks ago. If you take a little time to delay satisfaction of how fun striking can be at first to understand the clinch, and more importantly, the ground game -- and how stamina and grapple advantages work, then the game becomes significantly more fun. I just had to force myself to avoid learning striking until last (which is fine with me as I grapple IRL anyway so I love jiu jitsu guys).

So yeah, if you have the discipline to take a few hours to really learn grappling and stamina, then buy it.

Sorry, no comment on ultimate team or career. But I love online ranked and quick matches
