Re: A list of all Grapple Momentum Scenarios in EA UFC 2
Exactly. i wrote this before also. But i dont see this one and any more momentums in Single collar. So this list is not complete it seems.Comment

Re: A list of all Grapple Momentum Scenarios in EA UFC 2
I'm not sure if this is missing because it doesn't exist, or it's not considered a 'momentum transition' but is there such thing as a momentum submission?
Example: Throw landing in Dom side control, do my chances of finishing a kimura increase if I apply immediately?Comment

Re: A list of all Grapple Momentum Scenarios in EA UFC 2
I will make a vid in a bit. I will just cover a few since I will be using two controllers myself. No audio.
Full guard:
-DOM transition to Full Guard Postured Up gives momentum advantage to SUB Feet on hips getup
This for example. A transition from Full Guard Top into Postured up, then allows a faster grapple meter fill up for the feet on hips get up in the next position (RT and down). The same is for each example. The idea is that a fighter has momentum to pull off the next transition faster than what is usually available. You need to go for them right after to gain the best momentum.Loyal Browns fan

Re: A list of all Grapple Momentum Scenarios in EA UFC 2
TreJay... I don't think there is any mention of traditional x guard, but you're right about one leg x supposedly being in there. I haven't seen it. If you are just curious in general what the actual move is Google "Marcelo Garcia" and x guard or one leg x guard. He's probably the most popular practitioner who uses the position all the timeComment

Re: A list of all Grapple Momentum Scenarios in EA UFC 2
Just messed around with the scenarios in which there is supposedly a one leg x guard escape.
Can someone confirm that this is a mistake and the momentum escape is really the two handed hip escape (with the quasi butterfly animation)? Otherwise, I don't know how to do itComment

Stacked Guard
-SUB transition to Sprawl gives momentum advantage to SUB getup to over under
This one is way too fast IMO. It's essentially a free transition. Not too many people know about it because the transition to sprawl isn't a common move on a lot of fighters, but it pops up in top UT fighters. I remember trying to bait someone for the guillotine sub reversal from the get up to over under from sprawl. Purposely obtaining stacked knowing these 2 transitions were coming back to back, and that get up is just unstoppable. Tested in practice mode as well, it just zips through.Comment

Re: A list of all Grapple Momentum Scenarios in EA UFC 2
THANK U BUT CAN WE PLEASE GET ALL GUIDES ABOUT ALL GAME MECHANICS SO WE ACTUALLY FINALLY KNOW HOW THE GAME WORK???
for example I don't understand difference between strikes in clinch (what re uppercuts for, knee to leg), ground (elbow vs hammer fists vs regular punches vs hooks) , GnP finish the fight (does strike type make any difference at all?) etcComment

Re: A list of all Grapple Momentum Scenarios in EA UFC 2
Absolutely, but it requires grapple advantage and stamina advantage to the defender. Just a slight advantage to the guy getting up to over/under and the meter fills instantly. Stats play a role as well.Comment

-SUB transition to Back Sitting gives momentum advantage to SUB sweep to guard right
It seems if dominant fighter is in half guard right the SUB sweep is to guard right, but if dominant fighter is in half guard left the SUB sweep is to the left for momentum.Comment

Re: A list of all Grapple Momentum Scenarios in EA UFC 2
This may be a snob comment lost on deaf ears, but for me - and perhaps a few others who grapple -- I think it would be helpful if the correct terminology were used for moves and transitions. I get that moves often have various names (especially if you're 10th Planet), but maybe we can try to be more clear just because sometimes I actually do get confused.
For clarity:
Sweep: Is a guard position bottom to a guard position top.
Reversal: Same as above but not from a guard. (Example: reversals start from side control, mount, back mount etc.).
The move names aren't as big of a problem aside from me taking time to find them and being unable. Example: I believe the original list has escapes from half guard and mount in which one leg x guard is referenced. I've been trying like hell to find this. I'm thinking the position has been confused with what looks like a butterfly standup. (Would love clarity so I can stop trying to find a one leg x move).
AND... The reason I bring this up, is id be curious if anyone has run some tests to get a deeper understanding for ground scoring. I wonder if they used jiu jitsu rules in some way. If so, sweeps and guard passes, mount, and back mount are worth points whereas reversals (even when super advantageous), guard recovery, and transitions to stand up are worth nothing. Submissions are also worth nothing (although I'm positive the game is scoring submission attempts pretty strongly), so maybe my theory is completely debunked by thatLast edited by Ksearyback; 07-19-2016, 02:03 AM.Comment
