I usually send a message saving "nice shorts" or "good try fancy pants" because practically 10/10 times they are wearing champ shorts.

In quick match normally I just kind of spar unless person is dork.

If it didn't provide the option people would pull the plug/shut off the console just to spite the opponent and not get a sub loss on their record

This happens to me a lot - AFTER I tap some one, they pull the Internet cord. It goes down in the record books as a TKO win instead of a sub win. Afterwards I usually torch them with a pointed message or two.

The oversight of giving a TKO for a quit instead of a submission should be changed.

Why would it ever be a TKO if you quit? That is the definition of a submitting.

I think if opponent quits there should be animation of opponent curling in fetal position and tapping.

I've quit, but in this game I haven't in ranked. It was crazy annoying going for submission trophy and people would quit in the first game, crazy annoying.

Had a Velasquez quit vs my Struve within seconds of it going to ground in the first two minutes.

Completely agree. One of the many failed details that keep this good game from being great. It's especially frustrating when most of your UT fighters are ground / submission experts and you enjoy piling up the stats . . . however I still think I prefer that extra bit of joy I feel when I know I frustrated some one so much that they actually bailed on the game.

It sure would be nice if there was an instant quit option after a submission gets locked in. Instant quit after submission registers as just a regular loss and not a disconnection if there is penalty 4 that. Winner gets the submission victory.

Maybe after sub is locked and gates flash opponent can hit or hold a button to quit match.

My favorite quit animation goes to Undisputed 3 and when you quit the ref called the fight like it got a DQ and an animation played out with the ref and the 2 fighters. Also for the person who quit you would have to watch the animation before you got booted.

Stuff like that is pretty cool and just adds to the overall immersion of the game. It's not needed but cool to have.

The above is a perfect solution: the winner gets the satisfaction and tap, the loser gets to quit 5 seconds early.

Yup, the ref would always say "stop, stop, stop, it's over, it's over!" and cross his arms while the crowd booed and then Bruce would announce the loss as a TKO

If an opponent disconnects during GNP, the system ought to allow you to finish them, during sub the system ought to give you an immediate tap out. Both ways force the quitter to watch the inevitable.

Additionally, might there be a way to make it more difficult for them to get matches (non-quitters getting first dibs), or at least match them up with other quitters?

I just think it should go as an automatic submission. So people that quit alot will have a shockingly high number of submission losses, embarrassingly high. Would encourage more people to fight til the end on subs I think

I normally despise the magic combo, but against fake glove touchers all bets are off. I love taking them down and tapping them. Luckily most fake glove touchers are also absolute garbage at the game
