I would just like a general impression about the AI. It would be nice to know if it's improved and if we have any offline sliders to tweak play.

I figure you won't be able to tell us much, so I'll be cool with whatever nuggets you give us.

I know the devs won't get every fighter right. So aside from much better career mode and better AI in striking and on ground and fighter uniqueness, i expect them to give us the ability to edit movesets and stats like any other sports game i can think of. Make no mistake about, the devs won't get everyone right, so the best solution is to give us the ability to edit movesets and stats (only offline affected).

It's about time now for god sake.

Although i doubt he'll be able to check out something like that unless they have the UFC 3 menu ready, i'd like to take the time to point out something that i find absolutely depressing.

It just makes me sad seeing people, to have lowered their standards for what a new game should be and as a result, publishers don't care about the quality of the game & keep pushing out bullcrap at an increasing rate.

So games end-up becoming more and more casualised to appease to a dumb broader audience, who will put up with substandard, unfinished and unpolished, halfassed games, that sell for a AAA price and still have the audacity to be structured with a free-to-play Microtransaction system.

While the technology for developing good-looking games has come so far, the standards of the industry have stooped so low & the future of AAA games doesn't look too bright...

I can give you a general impression of the AI right now.

          It will be improved.

How much? We will see. I can say that based on what I've seen and heard, I pretty optimistic. I'm hoping to be more optimistic after I get a chance to play the game this week.

What I cant wait to do is break down why I think it will be improved but I have to wwit until we get closer to release for that.

Re: UFC 3 Event: What should I look for?

            1. How responsive do strikes and movement feel compared to UFC 2?
            2. Movement when going back and forth with the fighter felt so bad and not controllable. Do you feel now that you have full controll over your fighter and actually control the distance and have a good movement in the ring?
            3. Blood on canvas was kinda bad. The blood needs to be smearing when walking over it or grappling in it. Is this changed for realism?
            4. Feints need a complete overhaul. Anything new here? Are they fast and look more like a strike to trick people?
            5. Is the whole arcade game gone and we get a complete simulation game this time?
            6. I hope the combo multiplier is gone.
            7. I don´t want the game make me working on my opponents before i can knock them out. If i can make that 1 clean strike and it hits perfect, the fight should be over without working his head or body the whole time!
            8. Are ref stoppages in?
            9. Realistic cuts! Cuts that only are there because you hit them exactly at that spot and it should be realistic in the way how fast they appear. Every match right now looks way to bloody on the fighters, but not on the canvas. If ref stoppages could come to the game then we need realistic cuts to get a feel just from the visual part from the game when our fighters are about to got enough before the ref steps in.
            10. Random fighter selection. Please make it into the game,so we can have fun fights that would never happen if people choose always the best ones.
            11. UFC Undisputed 3 had a nice feature with replays saving and creating compilations and share them. I miss it,so can we have it back?
            12. Open the ranked matches,so i don´t play the same persons all the time.

Re: UFC 3 Event: What should I look for?

              Lots of good stuff already.

Since striking is apparently the focus this year, it would be great to have you guys make sure there is a more dynamic system where distance, angles, and timing are the variables in a damage equation.

Hopefully there is a wide spectrum between a flush shot landing behind the ear, or on the chin (hurting or completly starching the opponent) and glancing shots. Not all strikes either land flush or miss. Variance in damage based on an equivalent visual would be awesome and would hopefully take any randomness out.

Any additions to the Grappling game should flow with what we already have. Don't add stuff just to claim additions. Anything new is great, but only if it helps add depth without increasing clunky gameplay.

A complete re-underwriting of the GA system. Look for any area that makes no sense. (Example: a fighter in a sprawl gains GA for no apparent reason at all. Why? Take this crap out.)

Combos multipliers and anything else that even has a remote arcade gaming feel to it need to be identified and questioned. Everything should be grounded in realism.

IF THE ENTIRE GROUP DOES ONE THING THE WHOLE SESSION, LOOK FOR ANYTHING -- ANYTHING AT ALL -- WHICH DOESN'T HAVE A REALISTIC FOUNDATION TO IT.

              ** Small things:
              1. No cut scenes for online (go immediately to the fight)
              2. Some kind of way for the computer system to grasp what was happening when someone quits an online game. (I.e., if in the middle of the submission, then the person loses by submission).

Re: UFC 3 Event: What should I look for?

Not much of something to "look out for", but more food for thought if anything. If you think this can be relevant to conversation, then this could be an idea:

Alongside "perks", maybe "traits" to develop that fighter uniqueness? For instance, on FIFA, you have "traits" such as "selfish, leadership, speed dribbler" which all contributes to his uniqueness, but then "power free kick" or "flair" would act as the perks (kind of).

Translate that into UFC, fighters like Vitor, Woodley and Machida would have the "blitz" trait (where they would explode with a barrage of attacks), and Gus and Overeem would have the "runner" trait where they would purposely run out of situations to reset.

If these traits were to be developed in UT, have it as a similar system to where NBA has badges on MyPark.

                One more thing for UT:

Easier navigation to find Fighter Showcase cards!

If we want to find what fighter has what nowadays, we have to scroll through all the featured items. If we could just select a fighter and it would pop up with all cards he/she accumulated throughout the game's duration, it would be much better for us all.

For instance, we have Werdum's celebration pack out, but all I know is that he has a sliding kick to the head amongst many others he has. Now, I could understand maybe new players finding it hard navigating what showcase cards Werdum has, but when people have played 3000+ games and they're still finding it hard to find it through featured items, it's a bit of a flaw in the system.

That trait system is a really good idea ! It could definitely open up a lot of options : IA would play based on the traits and the specialty (i.e. Woodley blitzing and being a power puncher / wrestler), and traits could be linked to some special moves / transitions / advantages for players, adding to the uniqueness.

                  Great idea !

Re: UFC 3 Event: What should I look for?

                      1. Parrying

It shouldnt freeze the attacker. Parries should nullify any damage taken. If done properly you should be able to parry and combo right into an attack to counter.

                      2. Feints

Can we PLEASE have animation cancelling feints? A real feint can just be a twitch of the shoulder or hip. In the game you have to fully commit to each feint and the same animations. If we're allowed to cancel any strike by tapping the block button a couple of frames into our moves that'd be awesome. If you mistime it you could get the more committed feint animations from UFC2.

                      3. Customization

Will this finally be like other sport games and allow us to edit fighters? We should have a roster file and the option to play with friends using custom rosters.

                      4. Grappling /movement

I made a post that GPD approved of. It involved movement becoming key in grappling as well. For instance in the clinch if you have a double under and you're pushing your opponent the body clinch TD should be a lot more effective.

On the ground we should be able to combine movement/transitions to make grappling more dynamic. Let me scoot my hips back to help create space before putting my feet on your hips and push off.

                      5. Scrambles/Denials

Can we bring back the "get up" feature but call it scramble. Fighters should have a rating for it. It should take a lot of stamina and be easily denied if just done without thinking. Proper scramble timing would involve pressing it when your opponent creates space to strike/transition. I also want the universal denial mechanic back. Just let it slowly drain stamina and make it so the ref will warn you once or twice(depending the ref) before standing you up.

                      6. Submissions

Please tell me we have a new sub system? I wouldnt mind minigames to finish the sub but to attempt it we should have to work for it with transitions. Flash counter subs being an exception

Re: UFC 3 Event: What should I look for?

                        Wrestling

Can we fix strikes interrupting TDs? It should only stop a TD if it did enough damage to rock/stumble someone. Just make TDs cost more stamina to balance it out.

                        Catching kicks/punches

Can we have this mechanic? A caught punch leads to a clinch. Caught kick is a TD attempt or you can strike/ let go.

I think holding block while flicking RS up or down would suffice

                        Stamina

Is it fixed finally? Our short term stamina shouldnt stop us from throwing regular strikes. Make it so that if our short term stamina is done then each strikes costs double from long term stamina. But everything needs to cost more stamina.

                        Finish the Fight

Please tell me this is GONE. Terrible mechanic, we should just get a boost to our short term stamina but let it affect our long term stamina. That would simulate the adrenaline dump and the way fighters have to manage the risk reward of going all out for the finish.

I can't tell what was posted before, but i have a small UFC 3 wishlist i'd like to post.

                              -Head movement not preventing bodyshots
-Head movement being more clean & detailed. For example: Sway to the right, come back with a right hook off of it and increase the punching power of that strike (not only as a counter).
-Head movement: If you pay attention, most strikes aren't even compatible wit the head movement in UFC 2. You sway in some direction, but as soon as you counter your fighters model goes back to your original position. Shouldn't be that way.
-Parries need to be more balanced. Shorter windows in getting one AND shorter counter window.
-Parries should have different levels to them: Parrying a straight punch should only allow a straight punch to counter with, before the other fighter is able to block again. So it should have a "speed level system" i guess.
                              -Colored shorts
-Ingame Cinema/Theatre mode (Ability to create HLs and/or edit KOs)
                              -Online Fight Camps
-More individual design for fighters (movesets/techniques/stats)
-No more "over the top" HIT STUNS/HIT REACTIONS after every second combo
-Better ranking system for online modes. Play higher ranked players = earn more points. Lower ranked, less points. Also more -points for losses. (Can't have people with 2000+ Losses on top of the leaderboards)
Also add more +points for a winstreak online. 5th win + 5 points bonus. 6th win + 6 points. Always increasing as the streak goes on.
-FULL ROSTER ...YES !! FULL ROSTER !!! ALL OF EM' !!!
                              - No more "FINISH THE FIGHT"-HOOKS. Hate it. You wanna go the body and your stupid character randomly decides to do 12 hooks to the head, which are ugly as f*** anyway.
-More CAF options ( Hair/Facial Hair etc.)
                              - Less over the top knockouts. ( No more backflips from uppercuts)
-More Standups by the Ref (Bring Josh Rosenthal back lol), no more pillow punches from FG & HG. It will force people to take more dominant & hard to obtain positions.
-Invent a new submission system. The cat & mouse stuff is annoying by now. I thought of a mini transition game with 2 to 5 stages and up to 4 transitions in each of those stages. So you have to successfully deny all transitions to get a Sub. Would be more complex and enjoyable i believe.
-Also just add more transitions to each and every position on the ground. Can't have people stalling in side control, where they only have 2 directions to worry about.
-More dynamic & less stalling clinch. Devs watch the first minute of the Cowboy vs Lawler fight.
