I've talked **** about EA and these games in the past, but I realize that there definitely are people at EA who truly love MMA and want to make a real and amazing MMA experience. One of those is Geoff! So thank you Geoff, and others, for trying your best to make this a great experience!

Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
"The addition of vulnerability frames encourages more counter-punching, as strikes do more damage if you hit them during certain portions of their attacks. More powerful strikes have wider vulnerability frames, meaning that you have a bigger window to do serious damage if your opponent is throwing a Superman punch than if they're throwing a quick hook. For example, I was able to easily rock my opponent by interrupting their head kick with a straight right."
In UFC 3, the left stick is purely for movement, while the modifiers are sent to the bumpers and triggers. In addition, uppercuts are now thrown by pressing two face buttons at the same time, resulting in more intuitive exchanges. This took me some getting used to, but by the end of my first match, I was trading strikes like a true contender.

Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
Oh I didn't realize RPM Tech is used in FIFA 18 too. I did play that, to have some slight comparison atleast. Even though FIFA games always felt pretty good as far as control goes, it was quite a noticable upgrade. I hope it has the same feel to it in this game.
It would be awesome if Machida's unique movement can be done justice with footwork now. I also wonder if head movement is an attribute. Since there are obviously many different levels of skill involved in that one. But then again if it is one of the main forms of defense I suppose everyone should have it.Comment

The biggest reason is because we only have two fighter in the game so we can use it in ways they can't.
I went back and played UFC 2 and absolutely couldn't believe how unresponsive the movement was compared to UFC 3.
I mean it felt like there was some horrible bug, and that couldn't possibly be UFC 2.
That's why they are making sure all the press who played UFC 3 in NY this week had a chance to compare it to UFC 2 side by side.
The difference is very dramatic.Comment

You'll see this pretty soon, but the RPM tech has had a way bigger impact on UFC than FIFA.

Something I'd like to explore in the future, especially for clinch and takedowns, but that's all future experimental stuff.Comment

Re: Additional information about EA UFC 3
I just hope career mode has the most important element to any great career mode...CHOICE!!!
Don't force me to sign with the UFC. Don't force me to eventually go on TUF. Let me pull a Fedor and have my full career in WFA. My favourite thing about Undisputed was being able to do that. Eventually older UFC guys would be forced down to the WFA, so I would have fights like Fedor vs. Cro Cop. It was amazing!Comment
