EA Sports UFC 3 - Full Striking Controls In Visual Format (MartialMind)

Changed the title just a tad because I didn't want to use the exact video title since we already have a topic here titled 'UFC 3 Standup Controls Confirmed', I thought this would be a bit more accurate with all things considered.

Blocking low with both triggers sounds interesting. I'm pretty good blocking high/low with the current controls, but I think this could feel pretty good when I get the hang of it.

My PS3 died a bit ago, so I was out of the Fight Night game for a while. Just grabbed a new one today. I've always been an analog user in the game, but I'm gonna run with the buttons until this drops. Are we there yet?

I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play. I want to play.

      Edit:

I like these block changes. Seems much more convenient. I was never good at rapidly switching block on different levels.

i love low block for R2+L2. I think, we can hold R2 for high block and if someone throw low or body kick, we can react immediately by input L2.

Getting used to the new block controls is indeed relatively easy.

I like the new controls, and the block. Plus the less use of L1/ LB will save that button from breaking. I still wish block was like Fight Night Round 2-4 with a modifer plus the stick. But this new block will due just fine. It's not a new command with double presses you had to do that in EA MMA for Advanced Parry.

R2/RT + Right Stick Or Left by itself was regular Parry but Advanced Parry was L2/ LT + R2/RT + Right Stick Right Or Left.

The old control scheme would be limited if it existed in this game. The old EA UFC 2 control scheme would be at a disadvantage with the new locomotion system if it still existed along with the new controls. Could EA allow the old controls to exist along with the new controls? Yes they can if they really want to but that old scheme doesn't showcase the new movement. That would also take alot more work to do then it did to patch in a new control scheme for Fight Night Round 4 because alot of UI work would have take place to have the game adapt movesets to the control. The Movesets list would need adjustments with different scheme's.

Old (EA UFC 2) Vs New (EA UFC 3)

            Stationary Headmovement (Old)
            Headmovement While Moving (New)

            Stationary Strikes From Stance(Old)

Strikes Accessible Going Forward, Backwards, Side To Side(New)

            Only One Technique Modifer (Old)
            Less Strikes

Technique Modifer, Signature Modifer, Knee/ Elbow Modifer
            More Strikes (New)

Could they have the old scheme and slightly modify it to have the signature modifer, and a different or same way low block modifer yes.

Or a different scheme existing all together yes they could, but only a few ways actually work with the new locomotion system. It's either what we have for EA UFC 3,a variation of UFC 3, or FN style that can work with the new locomotion.

The old scheme mixed vs the new scheme would be like how some scheme's were on Fight Night.

FN 2004-FNR4 had preloading with stick strike which could be used as Feints where as the button scheme's in FNR2- FNR4 could not.

The new controls make sense and doesn't seem hard at all. I'm really shocked at how many strike modifiers we have we can definitely do some amazing things with the new EA UFC 3 controls that we never could do in UFC Undisputed, EA MMA, EA UFC 1 & 2. Alot of spam tactics possible in EA UFC 2 won't work with EA UFC 3.

Seems a bit too complicated quite frankly. Maybe it will reduce spam but probably a no buy for me now

I think at first glance the new control scheme seems a bit too much but once you break it down it really isn’t. The basis is always the same

Square and triangle are left n right punches
X and O are left and right kicks

The shoulder buttons are modifiers for hooks, overhands, elbows, and body

I like it. And it just seems like it’ll be easy for ppl to pick up and play have success and at the same time it still has ALOT more complexity within these controls once you start mixing things up holding a body mod with a elbow/knee mod for example just gives more variety.
