Lol. You guys are just hating to hate. I'm pretty sure none of you have played a version of the game with parries being different, so you have zero basis to make claims about that technique in future games.

Maybe they could be reworked. To just want them up and gone is nonsense, unless you aren't familiar with MMA. To say someone who is upset that parries are removed just sucks and relies on them is bananas.

MMA fans should be. Remove any excess counter window, make it so you have to press parry button and block at the same time. That way people can't camp on block and still parry.

A big portion of roster fighters don't really bob and weave that much, in UFC 3 every fighter will. I understand it looks cool and feels good on thumbsticks though. I would have actually made a slipping stat that effects speed and range of slips, but since parries are gone that stat wouldn't make sense cause it will be every fighters best option for head strikes.

Just an FYI since it doesn't matter anymore, but in UFC 2 almost nobody parried body/leg attacks effectively if you were mixing it up.

But,parries are almost nonexistent in MMA. Every great once in a while you may see a jab or straight get parried,although I can't remember the last time when I have seen this. It just makes sense to remove them,period. Sidestepping and head movement should be how you evade strikes,not pushing aside a head kick like your arms are windshield wipers.

Hating to hate? No. If parries were implented properly thatd be fine. But when someone sits there, literally spamming parry trying to catch you so they can throw a body spam, or overhand or double headkick clearly there’s an issue. I’ve watched guys parry 10 times within that amount of time when Im not even striking or have thrown a strike for 20 seconds

Its not that far from true. For the AI tendencies, I watched 3-4 fights each from 70 plus UFC fighters and had to document how each fighter defends strikes. The large majority of them dont use parries to defend. They use blocks, slips and movement to avoid strikes. Guys like Rumble/Woodley/Stephens and a few others used them occasionally but not even the majority of the time.

The fact is the way parries were implemented wasnt true to life at all. The window and even the animations werent realistic in any way. Maybe they can bring them back at a later date but I'm happy people will be forced to use more realistic ways to defend like slips, lunges and blocks.

Depends on what you consider a parry. Hand fighting happens all the time in MMA. Thats different. Parries (a defender using his hands to deflect/misdirect an incoming strike) doesnt occur as often as you think.

I'm not saying it happens. It absolutely does but there wasnt a single fighter that I watched who used parries more than 20% of the time to defend strikes. ****, I most fighters were 5% and below.

They are far from nonexistent, just watch a few of the matches from Poirer vs Pettis event (the most recent UFC event I got to see). They were parry crazy in that particular show and it happens more often than you believe, esp with kicks...it's just that parries in real life are simply another way to avoid taking damage, not some magical counter striking technical video games have implemented as for some reason.

Personally, I'd like to see parries still in the game, but with NO ADDED COUNTER WINDOW. But if for whatever reason they couldn't do that, fine, leave it out. But I'd like some added defense from the striking game in this game. I think it was Arloski vs Albini in particular that Albini was parrying A LOT, but of course, not at any point did it set him up for a counter. That's how it should be.

Why is that weird? He could be a really big MMA fan and like what he's heard.

Because in terms of actual quality and actual hype, there are many other games to be more excited about rather than a sports game made by EA.
