Re: AI Beta Feedback
Finally got to play some, here are my initial thoughts:
Pros:
1) I can see tendencies in different fighters. Khabib went for multiple takedowns until he got one and just mauled me. McGregor KOd me in the first although it was mostly due a beautiful counter after I missed a head kick. Alvarez seemed to get rocked a lot (like he usually does haha) and mixed up wrestling with boxing. It never felt much like I was fighting the same fights when I used different fighters.
2) The skill level, to me, is by far a step up. I really felt like if i gassed myself quick or made a mistake it was very easy to get rocked and have the fight switch gears quickly. It forced me to fight smarted instead of just bum rushing the AI.
3) The judging system seems legit so far, I have read on other threads that the judging has been bad for them but I have not seen an issue with it yet.
Cons:
1) I think that the difficulty level should be changed in some way. This may just be me, but I felt that on the higher difficulty it just made the AI better at everything instead of really highlighting their strengths and giving them a few weaknesses you needed to exploit. I do not want see Khabib become a superb striker on Legendary or McGregor develop a challenging ground game and clinch when fighting a wrestler (this is just personal opinion on what I want from difficulty)
2) I have had an issue seeing the "killer instinct" from the AI. I had quite a few fights where I was rocked or knocked down and it seemed that the AI just let me get up. I have never yet had the AI rush me when I was on the ground hurt. I am not sure if anyone else has experienced this or not but it is very strange to see.
One last food for thought... the learning curve for me was difficult. I was used to holding back on the left stick to through high kicks and other signature moves so I was often out of range when throwing strikes. Once I started understanding the striking system and using head movement and footwork I really saw the difference in this striking system. It is much better and really reminds me of the saying that MMA is like Human Chess.Comment

Re: AI Beta Feedback
PLEASE ADD SLIDERS! and the option to change the controls such as 1 button low block...AI catches all my kicks...like i said in a prevous post....
let the practice remain after the beat .... the new button configuration feels clunky to the hand and im having trouble with the flow of the game, trying to fight patiently but its going to take alot of playing to get the controls and im a hardcore gamer, with tat being said I dont know how this game is going to win over casual gamers with the complex controls...that was the biggest issue with trying to get my friends to play MMA games with me! they would give up and trade the game,.....EA something simple as making low block a 1 button set up can drastically change the feel..
reset the control options and patch your concerns and release a demo to the public a month before release because if this forum community has its complaints and grudges then what do you think the casual gamer would feel?
I love the game out of passion and it is better then the 2nd game but this it definitely needs other control options?

I know the AI is going to punch after catching my kick but have no way to block the head?
Please add this.
Look at THQ if you need reference.
Bro i feel ya.. im struggling bad with this and my friends as well, the button configuration is clunky and the AL exposes that body kick with vengeance.
we need high and low stick blocking or 1 button high 1 button low blocks.Comment

Re: AI Beta Feedback
The AI is actually challenging and fun to play against, hope it stays that way when we learn the controlsComment

AI Beta Feedback
Don’t get me wrong The AI is definitely better than UFC 2 but the The kick catch is almost guaranteed against the ARI and blocking their kicks consist of two buttons instead of one which I don’t like I feel it should either be high block low block one button for each

Re: AI Beta Feedback
I’m testing it right now and trying different combinations to see how many times the AI catches my kicks and it’s almost guaranteed EA please fix this and give us a single low block option

Re: AI Beta Feedback
Hey, man. I agree with you. However, I do think that the last difficulty should make the AI a bit more competent in general. I think Pro provides a challenging and yet very faithful experience, whereas Legendary is more about prioritizing challenge, even if a little bit at the expense of fighter individuality.Cons:

I also miss the killer instinct.
Although I don't agree with this, this is some very good detailed feedback. It likely deserves a new thread.Originally posted by AydinDubstepThe thing is dude, sooner or later I'll figure out the controls, but if they don't add defensive options from a caught kick, we're fudged whenever a kick is caught.
Been thinking about this more and have even more ideas they could run with:
Kick catcher options:
Return with a head punch
Return with a body punch
Drop the leg and throw a return strike or whatever
Lift the leg and try to off balance the opponent (against non-flexible guys)
Twist the leg and go for a takedown (wrestler style)
Sweep the leg and trip takedown (judo style)
Push / pull the leg aside open for a leg kick (muay thai style)
Drive the leg into the cage (if near the cage)
Defender (guy who has his leg caught options):
Block the head
Block the body
Punch back with one leg in the air (if the catcher is hesitant)
Takedown defense
Defend low sweep
Teep off the caught foot (high level kickers only)
At the very least, give us the option to block & defend TDs from the kick catch defense side. Just have the damage bleed through 50% or something.

Re: AI Beta Feedback
Does the stamina matter??
I’m testing it on UT and play now on normal and it still happens in the middle of a combination or after a faint the AI catches the Kik and you know what’s next you get popped in the face...Like I said I’m absolutely loving the game just that difficulty blocking kicks but the AI can do them at will

Test it on the roster fighters because I'm not seeing it at all there. UT has had some funky things happen when it comes to the AI.Does the stamina matter??
