Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
It generally doesn't. The video I posted earlier was against one of those kinda Diaz fighters, and can see in the 3rd round his stamina bar is still almost filled.Remember though it still taxes long term stamina even though the short term doesn't drop as low.
1-2 spam is really, really not OP.
It's just what people who don't know the buttons yet gravitate towards by default, which is why you see it so much.
It's probably the easiest thing to punish in the game.
Stamina loss in general doesn't seem to penalize as much as UFC 2 did. Speed & power barely seem effected as I thought it was supposed to.

Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
This can't be forgotten man. I have avoided playing Nate the entire beta cause he is the only character I can't enjoy fighting. I'm honestly afraid to see how fast Joanna or DJ could be in comparison if that's how fast Nate is. Nate is at 91 striking speed, Edson is 96, eddie is 90, dustin is 91, no body in this beta is that far from him yet nobody feels like that.
I'm speaking on the AI. I've spent very little time online, not for any real reason but I enjoy the AI.Comment

Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
Yh I punish it all the time with head movement. Think it's just Diaz 1-2 speed that overwhelms most players.Remember though it still taxes long term stamina even though the short term doesn't drop as low.

Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
It's Diaz speed in general. Fight him as an AI. You can't replicate the combo speed the AI pulls off as they go from head to body on you over and over. Every body shot I throw is slow and sluggish. The AI, but especially Nate, can just effortlessly flow between head and body at a ridiculous speed. 91 striking speed might as well be some arbitrary value or something man.Comment

Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
Combo speed in general should be tuned IMO.
Nate throws hooks faster than most other fighters throw jabs.
It's pretty hard to punish the 1-2 spam when they're throwing random hooks in there. Any attempt at head movement results in hit stun followed by 2-3 hooks before you can defend yourself.
You CAN catch them coming in, but even if you land a strik, most of the time they just blast through it with 1-2 spam, unaffected.Comment

Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
hopefully your tutorials come built into this game because no new players to the game are going to be aware of these tips.I had a similar problem the other day in fairness i was using Paul felder against pettis and my apponent just kept spamming 1-2 straights and no matter what i did i could not get away from him i think another slight balance update that is needed is the footwork speed or lack there of for some fighters with low stats?thoughts?UH VAI MORRER!!!!!Comment

Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
Vs cpu on pro, I'm winning 50% of my fights vs guys not named Nate Diaz... Against Nate Diaz I'm 0-10. With Barboza, I miss a leg kick, and from the time I throw the kick, to the second the leg touches the ground again, Nate Diaz had thrown 4 flyweight speed punches with heavyweight power... I can't do it lol.
Can gameplaydev, aholbert or someone who's doing well post a video of how they beat him on pro using only striking. I'm not sure it's even possible.Bucs, Lighting, Rays,Comment

Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
yh nate diaz speed is too quick in general, dotn get me wrong i can beat most of them but if someone good uses him and mixes in constanst pressure of combos to the body and head it all over. His speed is too much and he can keep throwing and recovering quick. He still has full stamina at round 3 with big stamina advantage and still got hand speed of Garbrandt.Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/im2good4u1

Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
Recently i faced a Diaz online, he finished me R2 2:10-ish. 402 strikes thrown, and plenty of gas left in the tank, nothing really happened to his stamina bar, just looked like after any normal 2 rounds. 402 strikes thrown in 8 min, accelerated clock. That's 50 strikes a minute.
Sure, the 1-2 spammers are usually easy to counter, but the fact that a strategy with constant pressure and forward movement and constantly throwing strikes mixing 1-2's to the head and body is possible without taxing stamina more just feels boring, you know? The game plays beautifully when it's played like it should be, and crazy flurries can be a lot of fun, but currently the risk/reward damage system (which apart from this is making the stand up super deep and lots of fun) doesn't really function when there's literally no chance of lowering your block to duck, sway, lunge or shoot for a TD.
50 strikes per minute, come on!Comment

Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
I can beat him a lot better now, but those combos HAVE TO be tuned to effect stamina more (as well as effecting the combos speed once it gets low). If we want a sim experience, this has to get done. Stamina is primarily only effect by body blows now and that seems to be it.Recently i faced a Diaz online, he finished me R2 2:10-ish. 402 strikes thrown, and plenty of gas left in the tank, nothing really happened to his stamina bar, just looked like after any normal 2 rounds. 402 strikes thrown in 8 min, accelerated clock. Re: Nate Diaz is extremely OP
Yeah, feels like the "skilled exploiters" will realize that their spamming of body blows won't affect their own combo speed or stamina notably, and more importantly it will completely drain their opponents. Feels like tuning is needed in that department, yes.I can beat him a lot better now, but those combos HAVE TO be tuned to effect stamina more (as well as effecting the combos speed once it gets low). Its no walk in the park but it can be done. But the cpu is a counter machine, you just have to mix up your feints with strike cancellation. Beat Nate on legendary.Comment
