This makes the submissions far less viable than simply pounding someone out. I'd like to see the numbers altered to allow people to survive those animations like they could in UFC 2. And to make them more frequent.
Finish the fight subs are way too cool to have this little utility.

In UFC 2, the finish the fight sequences happened much more frequently. This is in part because they were basically the only knockdown animations. They exist in UFC 3 but only happen rarely when the opponent is massively damaged and surviving the ground and pound is next to impossible. Only once has someone escaped from my Finish the Fight GnP.

How do you do them? Just throw a sub with L2 from normal ftf position on the ground? -

When you enter the position, there will be an arrow pointing to the direction you press and you will automatically enter a submission sequence. The armbar I did was only 1 level before the tap.
Side note: the clinch is most definitely OP this time around. :PComment

They arent even needed, not once have I managed to survive or even see a recover hud when I hit that knockdown stage, its over the second they get on me. Besides to say you did it whats the point of going for the sub when you can hit punch once or twice and win?Comment

There’s a lil secret to surviving “Finish the Fight” if they drop you and then try and finish you in full guard. It has worked for me like a charm and was in UFC 2.
Like a spoiled lil brat I’m not going to say how and what it is but some ppl should know what I’m talking about. Also out 15,000 ranked fights I think I’ve only seen it done about handful of times.Comment

I think I've seen one or two survivals, so far. I still hate the stick mashing, though. One of my main gripes with the game.Comment

I haven’t survived once, Ive only even seen the recover HUD show up ONCE, the punches are rocket fueled sledgehammers, makes the FtF subs pointless besides to say you did itComment
