Question regarding Rushdown and Leaping body hook

So this isn't yet another thread about Diaz or spam 1-2's as once you get to know the system more you get to understand how easy that is to deal with, what I'm currently discovering though is that going forward in a classic rushdown fighting game style is far too unbalanced in the risk vs reward department.

The main reason this seems to be a super viable option at the moment is because of two mechanics, the leaping body hook is by far the most oppressive punch in the game, its the only time I feel like theres almost no correct answer or punish thats going to reward me the same way as it rewards the attacker, it has such a huge effect on stamina and it may also have some evasive properties? That coupled with the fact that the stamina balance for going backwards and being hit in the body is almost the same as the person going forwards seems to make it feel like going forwards is ALWAYS the correct option if you retreat and get hit by 2/3 of these you've basically put yourself in a stupidly hard place to win a fight.

I'd either like to see a clear hard hitting counter where it makes going for one of these big swining body hooks a genuine risk or give people a better way to escape the vicinity that it covers.

I don't expect many people to have come across or applied this so far but once it becomes common trend (and it will) it's going to be by far away the most complained about aspect of the game.

Im at work so I cant get in the gym and lab this, but I suggest staying at "stepping strike range" and using the soft lunge backwards to get to "out of range" and then countering with you own rush down attack, as his vulnerability for whiffing should be high enough to get stun animations If you're successful.

Side lunge to opposite side of the hook and punish

The punch seems to have tracking as well as evasive properties, I'm not saying its uncounterable far from it just its too good for what the negatives are, something like that is bad for the game and especially for the balance.

Not sure youre familiar with what rushdown is, theres no room to go backwards as it becomes a relentless onwards assault, baring in mind being clipped with a couple of these will destory your stamina. The head damage trade off isnt worth it either, so far the only thing i can think of is to make it more vulnerable to straight KO counter like the over hand I'll post an example if people aren't sure which punch in referring to.
