thats a game issue that needs to be addressed somehow because ea ufc 2 was fine with the Ground and pound. maybe i didnt agree with some positions of power like the side back mount but in general it was fine.
Opponent's health, guard and stamina meter bars should be hidden, do you agree?

I thought UFC 2 was fine also. I originally hated idea of additional meters. If ground game in UFC 3 is like the beta I'll take the block meter please and thank you.Comment

I'm curious how many of those 43 tried breaking through block on the ground without the meter, or tried any gameplay without it.
Online without your opponents meters felt like a fairly accurate boxing experience (until you ran into Straight spam cheesers).
Offline with everyones meters showing or gone felt like an arcade game.
Decisions happened regularly online because you don't have perfect knowledge of your opponents resources. Offline, KO's galore.
I'm guessing this will be a similar experience.Comment

But in terms of how the bars affects the gameplay they're pretty much the same.
Over a million people bought UFC2, the vast majority never come here at all. It takes a certain type of person to bother coming to this forum and discussing the game. We're usually more competitive and passionate about both the game and MMA in general. Just because we're winning this poll doesn't mean this poll is necessarily accurately reflecting what everyone thinks. Just what we think on this forum.
So for the Dev team it's not as simple as just reading poll results. If we want to convince anyone we'll have to come up with arguments as to why a certain thing would improve the game. Not just that the hardcores on this forum want change. And even then they might opt not to do it.Last edited by DaisukEasy; 12-21-2017, 09:14 PM.Comment

There was arm health, which is essentially a less informative meter... but still a meter.Comment

The lack of this change will make or break the game for me. Being able to see my opponents stamina and know exactly where they stand is something that's made the previous games so cookie cutter. This would be the thing that takes it over the top of the Undisputed series in my opinion.
So much tension is captured with one simple change. Lots of uncertainty - will feel like a real fight.

Why not have no HUD but have a stamina bar for the ground? Because I agree that no stamina bar on the ground would probably be eh.Comment

Ground will be a problem yeah. You'd get people taking eachother down just to see their stamina capacity then though.Comment

It's not just about visual cues but logic in this case too. It would certainly make it so the submissions arn't one done deals as if you knew exactly the condition of your opponent at every moment of the fight. It would mean having skills in detecting those opportunities or weaknesses instead of relying on a skill that basically goes down to being able to read both stamina bars, making it literally a battle of stamina bars.Comment

Yeah, I'd imagine anything is better than the battle of stamina bars we currently have actually. It's a big part of why I don't like the ground game now that I think about it. I'm good at it but I often just get bored, rush to get out, and get submitted. It's just boring. I'm competitive with the best players but yeah.
I can actually feel my opponent staring at the stamina bars while we're playing. It's lame.Comment

Absolutely agree with OP. I played both of the original UFC games with the HUD disabled and it was really surprising how much better the game felt. I did a lot better in ranked too, likely because it forced me to constantly play strategically.Comment
