Don't think many (if any) of us have requested hitting someone unconscious 4 or 5 times. At the end of the day we just want realistic and dynamic KOs/TKOs that look and feel like they do in real life. This thread was created very early in 2018. Its now almost the 8th month of 2020 and a whole new game. "Until they can implement better referee interaction" was a valid argument to take on this subject back in early 2018. I feel as if that "Until" is long overdue at this point.

Re: GPD's official response to Finish the Fight discussion
Agreed
They have a couple ref interaction animations in the game already so why not use this to their advantage? Honestly all we need are these ref interaction animations that they have already built in the game to happen after every TKO or KO. For example: DOM is postured up in let's say postured up half guard or full mount. SUB is taking damage and the commentary is saying that the bottom fighter needs to defend themselves, strike back, or get out of it or the ref is going to stop the fight. We already have these commentary lines in the game btw. So DOM fighter keeps striking while SUB is still blocking, BOOM ref comes in and stops it. Scenario 2: Same situation, but the fighter gets his block blown up and gets completely knocked out, while the DOM fighter is still able to land 1 or 2 more shots when ref rushes in and pushes or pulls the fighter away. In the stand up department same exact thing applies. This is the stuff we need, they already have the animations from what I've played UFC 3 and the UFC 4 beta, so now it's time to just put it together and make some realistic TKO scenarios.Comment

Agreed
Agreed man. I feel like a lot if not all of the pieces are here to work with. It really does seem like a matter of putting it all together better. Maybe the Refs need that RPM technology lol. Everything that gets the RPM treatment seems to be smoother and interact with other systems better.
RPM refs lol, but yeah I really do feel like they have the foundation to make it work. They gotta complete that puzzle already. ALSO, if 41 pages on a Finish the Fight thread doesn't scream we want change, idk what will lol. Fingers crossed man.Comment

Re: GPD's official response to Finish the Fight discussion
The part that stood out to me the most is that he even admitted that continuing to strike a knocked out opponent COULD have been in, but only if referee interaction would have been implemented..........🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄
WEEEEELLLLLLLL...........we've only been asking for referee interaction SINCE THE FIRST EA UFC GAME!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
Seriously though........yea I completely 1000% understand that you did not want to allow us to hit a knocked out opponent over, and over, and over, as the ref just stands there. Yes that would ABSOLUTELY be a horrible look for what's supposed to be a representation of the sport but..........if you're worried about making a representation of the sport, wouldnt you INCLUDE REFEREE INTERACTION since it's a pretty damn big part of the sport??? We are 4 games in to the series now, and 5 MMA games in and we are still missing a HUGE part of the sport that people have been asking, pleading, begging, praying for, wishing for, and wanting since the very first game!
The sad part is.......it STILL wont be in EA UFC 5, 2-3 years from now!! Sceeen shot this, save it in your archives, whatever you gotta do to remember that we've been wanting some degree of referee interaction in the game forever and a day and it'll still get pushed to the back burner for some other wacky arena or fighter emojis, or clown outfits, or whatever else that is deemed to be more important than what we have been begging them for. Aholbert is ABSOLUTELY right when he said that this game is NOT made with us OS guys in mind, that much is painfully obvious!!Comment

Re: GPD's official response to Finish the Fight discussion
From a realism standpoint, the UFC has gotten really good about protecting their fighters, sometimes to the point of stopping it too early. When A fighter goes out, rarely if ever will you see them take more then 1 or 2 strikes and those are usually obstructed.
I frankly don’t wanna see someone unconscious getting hit 4 or 5 times as it’s immersion breaking and sets a really bad example for kids who are playing this game. CTE is a big deal and the life of this sport is going to depend on the UFCs ability to mitigate unnecessary punishment after a KO. They’ve done a pretty good job.
Until they can implement better referee interaction, I 100% support the decision made here.
Literally all they need to do is add ref interaction animation blended with the fighter interaction with an unconscious opponent. So have two people mocap and let the fighter play out the strike animation that kos the opponent and immediately have the ref mocap perform several animations depending on his distance. So late stoppage results in fighter hitting unconscious fighter 3 or so times , mid stoppage 2 punches and early stoppage 0-1 hits. Have the ref perform different animations for each distance from the ko victim and fighter.
Now how you want the ref to interfere should be based on distance and position. Theres thousands of different ways refs stops the fight by diving on top the fighter, shoving the opponent away , grabbing the fighter from the back ,front and side , locking the fighters arm while picking him up , pushing fighter against the cage , holding him against the cage then letting him go and more. There’s so many ways to go about it but the Ko animation has to be blended with ref interactions.
As soon as I knock somebody out and I’m going for the next blows that should initiate the ref and fighter animation. Come up with different animations so that the fighter and ref will react to each other with the push of a button. The referee interference should depend on his distance from both fighters.
As for ground and pound ko The referee is usually already at very close distance so the most you’ll be able to hit your opponent once you knock them out from the ground and pound position Is two times max until you have the ref step in. As I said once you knock out your opponent and you press the buttons to hit him some more an animation should play out that is initiated by pressing those buttons.
If I knock somebody else standing play all different animations for me to hit that opponent some more such as Dan Henderson’s diving punch on Michael bisping when he got knocked out then ref pushes me off, Francis Ngannou dive knock out of Alistair Overeem and Francis was able to get one punch in before being pulled off ,Jorge Masvidal knockout then rushes to get more hits and so on. They were able to get different amount of hits depending on the refs distance. Have the ref be mocapped and have the ref interaction be blended in after the knockout and once the ko happens ,I press a button to hit more (which depending on the animation I will get that opportunity) and the ref intervenes all in one single animation. Let the opponent ragdoll to the floor use some technology that tracks the unconscious fighters skeleton position, let the conscious fighter climb on top or stand over unconscious skeleton and use the fists to track the head movement even while unconscious fighter is still ragdolled on the ground.Comment
