I've had the same issue as OP. Fought against Borg, McGregor, and Rivera. They never took a step back, constant pressure. Makes the game unenjoyable when you're stuck against the fence and can't get away, even when you're tagging then left and right, they still never give an inch.

To be fair I only fought Edgar once, and posted this as a reaction to him going full Chris Leben on me. I could definitely try again and see how he fights.

I've also ran fights back with Whittaker a couple times and they were actually way more diverse and realistic the follow up times. Had two wars with him using Rockhold and GSP and found that both were great.

McGregor is the only one of those 3 with a custom AI and he pressures just like Conor should. Borg and Rivera are template AIs based on their fighting style. So they are basically doing what they should.

I get McGregor, but the generic ai's aggression should be toned down. Especially if they are getting rocked and dropped, they should at least take a step back.

They tend to back up if they get rocked already. You will notice them back up to the cage on Hard.

aholbert32 or SkyNet, will we ever get the list of fighters who have custom AI? Is there a plan to add new custom AI with patches?
Similar to how more custom animations can be included for dlc fighters (Gaethje), can we expect there to be a high likelihood that custom AI will accompany new DLC fighters? Thanks.

I dont think there will be a list but there is a possibility of more fighters getting custom AI. Its not as simple as it seems though. Getting the customizations right takes time and some of these changes can cause bugs.

There are 70 plus customizations so even if we dont add more, we have a good deal of the top ones covered.

                  Re: AI Aggression

I've run into a few fighters on Normal that are the exact opposite. Like they will literally not move until I start moving, then they move away from me. Eventually they might come in for a jab or body kick but then its right back to backing up and circling. I know some fighters really fight like this so its fine. Problem is the AI is god mode at blocking every part of their body half the time.

I feel like setting up the AI, or conditioning the AI doesn't really work in the long run. Like I'd be head-hunting for 2 rounds straight, then in the third round I will throw a hook to the body, in the middle of a fast combo, and the AI still blocks this first ever body-shot in the whole fight. IN THE MIDDLE OF A COMBO. Its like its based on % if they block a shot or not, and having nothing to do with setting them up high or low.

Don't get me wrong the AI is leagues better than EA UFC 2, and its generally really well made. Its just the blocking that bothers me.

@aholbert32, Here is a feedback. I have played on Pro difficulty but AI was foolish on side control position. He had allowed punches in that position and getting easy KOs.

Still having trouble with ai aggression. Played against Woodley and Romero who are supposed to be more conservative but they were barely less aggressive, still pushing forward majority of the time and throwing way too many strikes.

You should if you have an Xbox or a ps4. Use the record function and upload it to Youtube.

The reason this matters is because you are seeing things that I and others arent so I want to help figure out if this is an issue or if some of it is because of your playstyle.

I'm glad I play online as I seen an AI stream the other day with Big Nog throwing nothing but body kicks and head kicks.

Whether he has "custom ai" or not there should exist a "strike to fall" general AI preset that would apply to a lot of guys that simply want to stand-up long enough for a takedown to present itself.

From their you can code whether they box or clinch or kick box more than other guys. Not everyone needs the depth of them pulling off their custom combos.
