    Anyone Else Getting Tired

Of fighting the same guys online?

I always try to pick a variety of guys but fighting against Jon Jones and Conor Mcgregor over and over gets stale really quick. And it's an uphill battle fighting against a skilled player when you are at a severe stat disadvantage.

I barely ever use the best fighter in each division and I don't think I should have to in order to have a fighting chance against my opponents in Div 5.

I have had so many fights now where I have dominated only to be finished from a flash KO in the last round (my fault for getting hit I know) but it's partly due to the drastically higher power and speed stats my opponents hold.

Seems like the only solution is UT which I avoid due to the necessity of loot boxes.

There should be some sort of limit to the amount of times you can use the same fighter or some kind of penalty for having the higher stats.

I've seen a good amount of variety and think there are plenty of guys to choose from you can be successful with in basically every division (I just avoid FLW like the plague with DJ being so good) No chance of using a lower tier fighter and winning though. But I can beat Conor with a plethora of LWs or FWs. And Jones is farrr from OP this time around like he always has been previously

Youre getting less points for using GSP for example that is what I am experiencing atm. Im using only one fighter at the time to get used to the combos.

And what Ive noticed is that I got more points with Masvidal and Nick Diaz than with GSP. It could also be that I was just fighting people below me in the rankings or both, cause getting 8 pts for a win compared to the 13 pts I was getting with Jorge is a significant number.

ITs been that way since undisputed 09, sadly it will always be that way, lots of fun to pick a random fighter in ranked then have to quickly come up with a game plan

To be honest I'm fighting against a pretty wide variety of fighters.

Instead of just one or two guys per weight class I'm usually seeing 4 or 5.

i.e. for LHW --- instead of JUST JBJ --- I'm now seeing JBJ, Gus, Cormier, Johnson

Also in like 100 ranked matches I've only fought two people more than once. So the matchmaking has a lot of variety; not like I'm always getting matched against the same four people, which I thought could be a problem but hasn't been one so far.

I will say this. Giving people more leaderboard points for using lower-level fighters would really help spur more variety.

If I use Johny Hendricks (like OVR 86 or thereabouts) --- and beat GSP (OVR 93 or something...yea I know there's no OVR but you get the point)

I shouldn't just get +1 point for a lower level fighter I should get like +4 or +5

I would be using high-80 fighters ALL THE TIME if I got some sort of reward for using them. I believe we get +1 point for using al ower level fighter but that's not going to get me to select Johny Hendricks in ranked, even thought he was one of my favorite fighters in UFC 2 (he sucks now though ahhaha)

It's odd they didn't add any incentive to use lower fighters. There are a lot of great guys who just can't compete due to how some of the mechanics currently work, after a tweak they become more useful but any incentive at all for using lower end fighters would be a more than welcome change.

I find it interesting that you guys seem to be facing a variety of guys, if you don't mind me asking what console are you playing on? and what division?

As mentioned above my main point bout this is that there should be some incentive to fight as a lower ranked guy ie. more win points based on the stat variant.

I will add that 9/10 times I beat the Mcgregor users as they fight in a typical way, spamming the spinning attacks, which is fortunately easy to counter. I just get extra salty when is get beat by a flash KO with one of these guys, because I question what the incentive is for me to continue using the fighters rated in 80's.

For me, a legit MMA fan, I get more enjoyment fighting as the lesser known fighters but it is hella repetitive fighting against Mcgregor 5/6 fights in a row. I guess those people will stop using the game in time and the playing field will even out.

As a side note, i mainly played UT on UFC 2 (which is possibly why i feel this way) and never bought a single pack with cash but this time round it seems like not buying packs puts you at a serious disadvantage... but then again maybe I haven't given it enough chance.

Im on PS4 and I play every division except FLW and women's. I 100% agree with you and everyone who thinks there should be more incentive for using lower stat guys. This is something I've wanted since the first game. I would be picking the Omari Akhmedovs and Sam Alveys pretty often if there was incentive to win with them

Try using Ben Nguyen against a DJ user and only getting 3 points for a win but losing 15 points when i get the L.

Something doesn’t add up there. I get more points for my wins using top fighters and only picking 1 division to play.

I was really hoping the point increase would have been a lot more when you are using crappy fighters.

                  Kinda sucks to be honest.

If you search all weightclasses I think i see more variation than in any MMA game ever tbh.

The only time I ever really feel like there's nothing you can really do is when a Khabib gets on top of you. Feels like the stat difference is insurmountable but at least you have a decent shot at keeping it on the feet if you really try.

The variety is good in comparison with previous games. I think only double confirmation can make it even better. Each division has about a hadful in the top, very balanced in relation to eachother. However, the current body punch meta has stamina as an exceedingly important element, so the high stamina fighters are standing out, atm. Hopefully this will get sorted out soon and the power guys can shine some more.

UFC 2 had more variety by a long shot. When a fighter has all three, Stat / Health / Perk advantages it's a wrap. There's 4 options at LW, Ferguson, Diaz, Khabib and Conor. Every fighter after that is tier 2 and below. Ranked is the try hard mode, stay away from UT and enjoy the relaxed nature of Quick Match. Hover over Chad Laprise and see what happens. You'll be less disappointed than ranked for sure.

I've seen and made use myself of guys like Barboza, Cerrone, RDA, Gaethje, and MJ just off the top of my head.

Wrong --- I'll whoop just about anyone with Eddie Alvarez

LW is probably the deepest division though
