Re: I hope a lesson can be learned here
This is why I tend to avoid the forum unless the games just come out or I want information on patches. It's always just people complaining. You would think from the threads, it's the worst game ever created.
It must be incredibly disheartening to work on something for 2 years and be excited about something you worked so hard on just for people to s*** on it every single day.
I can't even imagine the amount of abuse he gets on twitter as well, from all the entilted people with no filter.
I couldn't care less what anyone else thinks, but I definitely got my £70 worth from the champions version.Comment

Re: I hope a lesson can be learned here
That's my biggest problem here too (I know I said I wouldn't come back to this thread but I couldn't help myself).
My argument has always been that you want to appease the hard core fans because they will spread positive word of mouth on the game to people who respect their expert opinion on the genre.
So I fight hard to make the changes the hard core community wants (remember the calls to remove parries) and when we finally deliver a quality game (better than any previous in my opinion) that hits many of the the things the hard core community wanted (a community which is small compared to the rest of the broader consumer base), the community bad mouths the game at every opportunity.
So why try and target the hard core again? if they don't actually advocate for the game, but instead turn people away from it.
Having access to the development teams brains and ideas is invaluable and quite frankly it's the only reason I made the decision to stop being a lurker and actually start making posts here. It's also why I will continue to purchase your titles and recommend them to my friends and family. Even though we don't always get what we want out of the box, you guys have always made the absolute best effort to communicate with the community and make adjustments to the game.
Lastly just to clarify.... I personally hope that you guys don't view the angry frustrated debates that we have as negativity towards the development team or the game changers. Don't get me wrong, there are some truly disrespectful A-holes in these forums. But.... I hope that the simple fact that we vehemently disagree and continue to resist certain ideas and opinions isn't what prompted you to make this post.Last edited by dina1229; 02-09-2018, 03:58 PM.Comment

Re: I hope a lesson can be learned here
The problem I have is that the constant negativity here gives people a false sense of how good the game actually is. Here is the long list of complaints currently on the front page:
- A problem with submissions.
- Body kick catching
- DJ's flying armbar
- What the heck GPD! (Which is actually a positive thread but the title reads like its a bad thing).
- KOs unsatisfying.
- Leg kicks are too good.
- Leg kicks arent good enough.
- Fighters dont retire in career mode.
- Multiple stamina threads.
Now some of these are legitimate. Some of these are complaints from people who havent played the game alot or learned the new controls. Some of them are complaints that effect very few players. Some are just opinions (I personally like the KOs in the game.)
If I was a person who doesnt come to this forum much and just wanted to check in on what the community likes about this game, I would think that this was one of the worst MMA games ever created based off of some of the titles of different threads and the constant negative posts.
Maybe I wrong though? Maybe I'm really enjoying this game but the majority of the community hates/dislikes this game and the forums are accurate.
My point exactly I was trying to make stating that there needs to be a one stop shopping on game issues and feedback from the DEVS As well ..
Have bullet points on each issue and number the solutions..So we can check the status of the issue and know that the DEVS are aware of it,
Kind of the way you bullet point The issues above but just have direct responses from the EA team not from the community... on this specific thread.. like you stated have a top 20 issues that will make it to the patch..
And make it a sticky, so we won’t have the same oh people take over thread with negativity, including myself.
I think frustration has been brewing and it’s to a boiling point with the game, and the forum has been riddled with complaints and it’s hard to keep track of that’s why A top 20 issues thread moderated by someone and only response from the EA team would be a much better alternative to the chaos that’s going on now.
And just have daily updates on the progress the team is making!?!

Re: I hope a lesson can be learned here
This I actually disagree with.
I think everyone here believes the previous versions of the game became WAY better after patches and I expect the same with this one.
Another issue (this isnt a shot at you btw as Im guilty myself) is with some members arguing over things in the negative threads which keeps them alive longer.
I personally would always support getting this game based off of the Dev team alone. But we do run into some that quickly forget how much better these games are. Im sure we’ll be singing praises after the next patch.
You are also a bit more optimistic about sports gaming forums than I am. I've been on OS for almost 2 decades and Ive seen a pattern when it comes to most patches and I'm guilty of the same pattern at times.
Patch comes out....many people praise it....hours pass...people praise it but complain about what wasnt patched or complain about how it was patched....days pass...people complain that the patch didnt do enough.

The devs dont work for us. They help create a product that we can choose to buy or not buy. We shouldnt expect them to answer any of our questions. We shouldnt expect them to give us daily updates on a patch. We should appreciate when they do but its not an obligation.Comment

Originally posted by iHazCodeThis franchise needs to study the source a bit closer, especially with regards to damage and stamina. The rest will fall into place after that.
But this thread is so overly dramatic and negative that it's ridiculous. You really want people to listen to you when you are advocating for them to be "punished" and trashing their sales numbers?

And yes, I've honestly spent less time on the forums since the game was released because I'm SO sick of the negativity. This is in large part because it's an EA game, though. The culture of gaming has very much shifted in the past couple years to where audiences are becoming entitled by holding publishers hostage. They did it to For Honor (and Ubisoft deserved it) and they did it to Battlefront II (and EA deserved it). But now there's an entitlement of sorts where gamers feel like if their demands aren't met they are going to lead a virtual lynch mob against publishers. And it WORKS.
I have read a lot of fair criticism/suggestions about the game over the past two weeks. Yet I have also read a lot of pure NONSENSE. But the nonsense is what becomes popular, because it fits the '**** EA' narrative.
Everyone who reads me knows I'm not an asskiss to the Devs or this game series. But I will honestly say they have done a solid job with this game. I was expecting more, but it is nowhere NEAR, even remotely close, to how bad some of these negative people are making it out to be. Worst-case scenario is they created a really good base to patch and tinker with over the next 6 months. This is much, much, much better than UFC 2 was. Let me know when Madden or WWE take that kind of leap from one game to the next.Comment

Re: I hope a lesson can be learned here
You didnt make the game more "hardcore"...
Imo, you did the exact opposite and turned it into an arcade brawler...PSN: Lord__Hazanko

Im actually getting worried we’ll lose our priviledges because this is the first time I’ve seen GPD so frustrated.
We are blessed to have such a visible dev team and way too many people take the time to try and trash them and their work.
I’ve said it before and i’ll say it again. This is the best dev team i’ve personally seen. When you see the vast improvements the last 2 games despite EA forcing UT on us it’s nothing short of amazing.
GPD I hope you dont give up on us.Comment

Re: I hope a lesson can be learned here
Last year you could walk through overhands and head kicks.
The damage system alone makes it way more realistic. There’s still some questionable decisions imo but this game isnt only meant to be 100% real.
I definitely respect you as a poster but I dunno how you can genuinely mean what you just posted.Comment

Now that’s where we disagree it’s call customer support I work for a marketing company, and that’s not how it works, Because if that was true these forums wouldn’t exist there here to produce a better product,
For example the Witcher 3 project red!
Had the best problem-solving team ever those people were dedicated to that game ,and whenever an issue occurred they were quickly on it and kept their customers notified of changes promptly, so you’re stating that EA‘s team owes their customers nothing? If that’s the case then customer should be able to return the product with no questions asked!
Not satisfied. Bought something under false pretenses, it’s called blowback just ask The battlefront 2 team! And how they had to do damage control.
Sorry bro but you’re trying to hard to sound self-righteous, No offense hopefully
If you buy a product that’s technically not sound then you have the right to complain and give the seller an opportunity to rectify the issue.. it’s called good business!
Almost every gaming company has forums now and they use it to communicate with players and it’s today’s form of customer service .
That’s why with our company and many others we send surveys, and have technical support etc..

Re: I hope a lesson can be learned here
Honestly a lot of devs communicate with the community now. Its not really that crazy. It seems like pretty much common practice for online games these days. Whether via Reddit, or official forums.PSN: Lord__Hazanko

What you are asking for is constant communication from a developer. The developer's job isnt to give you constant communication. Its to develop the game.
The forums arent here to "produce a better game". OS was here before devs even decided to come here. The forums are here so people can discuss the game. Period.Comment
