Tips to keep current in UT?

So.....Lately, been a bit busy at the worksite and arrive home later in the evening. Combine that with a wife and I don't have time to get into gaming often.

With that said, does anyone have tips for staying competitive in UT? I'm getting frustrated because it seems like I'm being matched up with opponents who have surpassed me in stats. I'm just not convinced that these guys are more skilled than me, but I don't think I have the same stat card options, which, I'm assuming become available the longer you play the game?

I don't pay cash for upgrades and I'm starting to think I'm being matched up with opponents who do (or as previously stated, its just my lack of time investment in the game). Maybe its just the match making algorithm not working correctly and matching me with higher stat opponents who I shouldn't be in the ring with?

Either way, I'm losing alot more matches, I can see and "feel" the vast difference in stats, and its starting to piss me off.

    Thoughts?

Playing the single player mode within UT is an option as the A.I is easy at least in the first few divisions and you can earn a decent chunk of coins to put towards a couple of packs and it also increases your level so you get the level packs.

Thanks for the prompt responses. Yea, after I posted the thread I thought about it and thats exactly what I'm doing now.

My tip is to drop a few bucks here and there. That's what everyone else who plays UT is doing. Otherwise don't play UT.

Anyone know if you can upgrade to champion edition after buying the regular game?

Hey, currently in top ten UT. I didn't have to spend any money, I would play single player as well. Farm card packs turn those silver tokens into golds to create gold fighters. One of this mode’s saving grace is the fact that the card packs are pretty easy to earn (700-900 per win) while the packs themselves cost 5000 coins.

I really despise the fighter skins I much prefer the communities create a fighters for the very reason of fighting Anderson silva Six times in a row but to be fair I haven’t touched it since

i would suggest the same as eveyrone else and go for single player until u have a few gold fighters. Also if u can do the 3 of the insane challenges(not too difficult if u pick the correct style fighter) u can get a gold caf for 3 gold tokens from sets.

edit: u really dont have to spend money on this ut, once u get a couple of gold fighters u are good. The only real reason to buy packs on this one is to get 4/5star fighters but with the drop rate of gold fighters in packs, u will have to spend thousands in order to get the ones u need for the 4/5 star fighters

I think the offline giving the same rewards as online is the culprit for the wonky matchmaking. The online rewards should be increased in 50% or so, imo.

Otherwise, many players will farm offline a lot before jumping online, creating a chasm between themselevs and the players who jump online early.
