If you are talking WW, there are some great options to combat GSP. If they are taking you down, pick someone with good ground game. Maia,Diaz,Gunnar...you can give GSP fits down there with those guys.

jon jones is great but at least u can get inside and pick him apart. cormier is awesome but i can keep him off me using guys like vitor

what are u supposed to do against gsp if u pick someone at that weight class? just block everything they throw? that doesnt happen a lot once u face better players, his ground game is so good that its almost impossible to counter his transitions off his back. it should be possible to outstyle him in some way, but the way his is currently is just better at every single thing besides maybe a jab

i think gunnar may be the only person i've beat him with. maia no success because even if u outstrike him early he will eventually land 1 big shot or reverse a ground position

i really dont even mind losing him i just hate when i'm on a win streak and get a belt and then pick an average fighter and get matched against someone using GSP and then i have to win 5 more fights in a row to get my belt back. i would pick GSP if i have the belt and know i'm facing him

i won the belt wit thiago alves. i should be able to see if the guy i'm fighting is picking someone around that level.

He's good but you can beat him with certain guys if you know what you're doing. If I feel like im gonna face a GSP playing ranked, I go with good ground guys. My choices either Diaz or Maia. That way when he takes you down he's still not safe. A good Maia can sub GSP with the quickness...just ask Big Cee.

At MW I picked Romero and beat a lot of people using GSP. Avoid getting taken down, actually best avoid the ground game completely. Watch out for headkicks. I played patient and got the KO each time.

Just pick Nate Diaz or Cowboy. If he takes you down get back to full guard and throw up a triangle then switch it to an armbar. It's a 2 gate submission. I catch GSP in it all the time, works well against Khabib too.

I played on GSP last night and he held me down for a round and then finished me the next. He's tough. I was lighting him up a bit with Masvidal, but if the user is good it's going to be a long night. I don't care about my W/L like that, but definitely get someone with grappling/submission skills.

Lol yh I cant stand Woodley either on ranked. But yh he's a good pick vs GSP too. Good tdd and has power.

Yh I like using Masvidal too but hes not that good of a pick against a good GSP cuz of the ground. It helps that he had the "to your feet" perk, but other than that he doesnt have much off his back.

Demetrius Johnson is a god in this game lol

As he should be. But I think no one compares to how scary he is. But i havent fought that much on ranked yet

He's so faaaaast lol. I think this game did a good job of fighter speed. The little dudes look like a blur in there and his movement is pretty crazy.

I've knocked out GSP with Darren Till a few times in Division 5

but yea, going against a competent top 100 fighter using GSP can be pretty tough ---

IMO No Need To Nerf GSP (or anyone!)

Just give MORE points if you fight GSP with a lower level fighter to help balance it out. And vice versa

If I got +4 points for using an OVR 88 type of fighter vs. OVR 92 type fighters, I would use the lower tier guys (and gals) much more often

They should definitely make this more pronounced. 4 points for the difference you noted is probably too much but yeah. I'd go with 3. Every point matters! lol. I mean the OVR 92 guy shouldn't be losing 4 more points in that scenario imo. Like Nick Diaz is very usable and he has a pretty low overall.

I really wish they'd make featured fighters worth our while too. Currently they seem completely pointless.
