What's the point of featured fighters

There still seems to be no insentive to use them.

Sure, you get the challenge of a new fighter, but if you lose you're screwed.

I just used Dustin Ortiz as my featured fighter and lost a decision to somone using Demetrious Johnson. I lost 12 points off my rating,despite using the featured fighter and only losing by decision.

So i ask, why bother?i could have beat the guy if i had a slightly better fighter and i wouldn't have lost points.

I get it you need to lose points for losing. But at this point featured fighters are worthless.

Very good question. I loved using featured fighters in ufc 2 but there is absolutely no reason to do it this time around.

I agree. You can do it for fun or for a 'challenge' I suppose, but if you care about your rank, no real reason to use them most the time unless it's a top 5 fighter in that division.

I figure we still get +1 point for using them? In UFC 2 that was the case and it was displayed. But we don't really see how many points they're worth in UFC 3

Would like if Featured Fighters were maybe +3 points ---- AND/OR ---- ranked points were more heavily adjusted for the Stats of each fighter.

So if you had beaten DJ with Ortiz you would have gotten point(s) for Featured Fighter and Point(s) for the Stat Differential

IMO a +5 bonus for your scenario would be relatively fair.

But yea as is stands now I only use featured fighters if they are one of the fighters i would usually use anyway, since they're almost no incentive, and a lot of risk

I figured we got extra points like last game, but don't pay attention. I've been spamming random fighter button until it lands on featured fighter, but never actually checked points or how ranked progression works.
