For me I'm sure that's part of it. Can anyone confirm that retreating strikes are also taxed? I mean lets be real for a minute here... This game has always been one person chasing the other for the most part. I rarely see people stop and try to plant before throwing their strikes. I think much of that is due to the current over aggressive meta. Personally I rarely find an appropriate time to stop and plant before striking. I'm always being hunted or hunting someone. By the time I make the conscious decision to stop I'm already being punched in the face or missing my punch because they are retreating. This mechanic really only works if you can create space.
Also let not neglect Middleweight and above if we make adjustments to heavyweight. I think middleweight is where these symptoms start. I do think that we need to see the meta change before we get too overly aggressive with these type of adjustments. Below middleweight I can slip and dodge someone who is being overly aggressive. Heck I can even slide a quick straight in to interrupt someone being aggressive. I don't feel like I have these options once I get to middleweight. I would also add that the problem becomes much much more amplified when you aren't specifically a "striker" in Ultimate Team". Just my two cents.
