    Takedowns another request

    I think we can all agree, we'd like to see more interaction and struggle added to the clinch/takedown game.

    However I would really like to see that they add instant takedowns in specific situations. For example when an opponent is off balance or maybe even when they are rocked.

    What do you guys think? This happens a lot in MMA, just not sure how it could be best implemented in the game.

      There are already some instant takedowns.

      If you shoot a takedown on a spinning opponent or on a fighter who is turning from missing a leg kick (maybe even from the spin from missing head kicks too).

        The struggle HAS to be done next game. As long as it's actually an interactive part of the game with stamina playing a factor as well and not just animation, I don't know how it couldn't be a vital part of grappling. The way GPD has brushed it off as if it's just fluff, I almost worry they only look at it as a linear animation we wouldn't control or something...

          They did an interactive cage takedown, if they could just expand on that idea I think we'd be golden. My fear is how they look at grappling/take-downs in general. I've heard GPD ask a few times about which takedowns would you like to see added. This is great and all, but as you said, these are not just linear activities, but currently this franchise treats takedowns as if every one of them is textbook and perfect which almost NEVER happens in real life. In a real fight the technique is important, but it's 50% improvise.

          I contrast it to the self defense courses where they say, "if the guy puts the gun in your face you just do this that and the other thing"... "Oh wait, no he has to be holding the gun like this". Point being, it never works out in an ideal fashion, and the game would do well by trying to better reflect that.

            Yes, I like that one, but there should be more on non spinny stuff.. A perfectly timed takedown should work on most kicks.
