Tweak this and make outside fighting more possible

The new quick retreat. Alot have already been vocal about it and the crazy long term stamina drain that comes with it. Decreasing that long term stamina drain will make this gold for players looking to fight on the outside. Now I know there needs to still be balance with it, so here is my suggestion to make it work better. The stamina drain will depend on the duration of the move...

Short burst equals short term: Basically like it says, if used in short burst (just for a quick sec) just to quickly get back and reset, there would be no perm stamina drain. Only short term stamina will be used. See in below example...Jones doesn't move back much at all. He retreats back just a little to get out of Gus punching range and resets.

Extended retreats equals long term: Retreats that cover a bit of distance will chip at long term stamina. Below you see Barao covers a bit of distance on the retreat. The long term tax shouldn't be as much as it is now btw. This isn't a particularly taxing move for well conditioned athletes.

So that's just my take on how this nice addition can flourish and also make outside fighting a bit more viable in the game. Thoughts?

If pawing could be a better entry for single collar as well, then it can be like head control.

So I was gonna make a thread talking about this awesome new addition and an idea I had with GIFS maybe videos etc, but I'll share my idea here and see what response I get.

I love the new feature, I think the animation is solid and makes the game look more realistic. I feel that this animation could be used much more though. I've seen that we have a few fighters that have a "pawing" stance. One of them is Gustafsson. My idea is to use that stance for a "pawing" animation. Gustafsson's stance is perfect for this imo. So the way this would work is while stationary, holding down RT and RB/R2 and R1 this stance would play out. You would be able to use it while moving in any direction, it would act as a pawing jab, distance management, measuring your opponent out etc. Holding the left stick more than 50% while using this would play out the current extended arm animation we have, but we'd also be able to move in any direction with it. Most importantly we would be able to "circle out" with it. This would make for some interesting fights and get this game one step closer to real MMA. Stamina would play a role of course but I'll leave that for you guys to discuss, imo neither should drain permanent stamina.

Sorry if this is not on topic with the OP, just curious what you guys would think on this.

Edit: Btw I agree with your post man, as long as it doesn't take away as much permanent stamina as it does now I'm all for it. Good stuff.

Yh an active pawing stance would be something cool to have.

Im scared if they make this drain any less stamina it will become something everyone doea in every fight.

Ive already witnessed great fighters use it properly. I can't imagine it with less of a stamina drain.

Yh that's probably what the devs were thinking too. That's just my idea, but the devs may be able to come up with something better. I just think it should be more usable for those that use it properly. This currently takes more stamina than plowing forward combos do. If your just spamming it and using it to cover a bit of distance then yh it should drain you, but I don't think it should drain you that much if used just for a quick sec.

There has to be a buff to shorter fighters if this is done, right now being shorter can be balanced by ducking better. Maybe give shorter fighters a td boost and a tdd boost?

Yh more GA could be given I guess, similar to how it is when holding block. And maybe make the user more vulnerable to certain areas (body&legs) when using the move.
