Striking and grappling stamina should be about cost rather than separate

If your grappling stamina rating is high, the overall costs of transitions and takedowns are lower. If your striking stamina is high, the overall cost of strikes thrown should be lower. Ground and clinch strikes being an exception.

So if you try to wrestle Khabib with Conor, you are going to tire out faster, its an incentive to avoid it. If you strike too long with Khabib, the same happens. Overall though there is one single bar, so you can wear a guy out with grappling and then start implementing some strikes while he’s worn out.

Dividing stamina into Grapple Stamina and Strike Stamina ended up working terribly.

Yeah I mean there are multiple threads on this now all in agreement. Terrible. Just make grappling take less stamina from a grappler and striking take less stamina from a striker. From a SINGLE stamina meter though.

Yes. It should have been done as the OP describes it.

We're brutalizing a dead horse, but it had it coming.
