I am going to keep working on it but as of right now it's not a very functional mechanic for my skill level
Another thing that helps is learning the timing of block + slip. You have to do it very quickly and can even let go of the block button and make teh slip input a little befor the strike connects and it still works. I am terrible at it, but it's a player skill that pays off big time.

      Same.

Part of it, I think, is that UFC uses digital hit detection and FNC used analog.

So in UFC X always hits Y under the correct context.

Whereas in FNC it was as you saw it, the fist actively tracks the head from where it is when the input registers, and thus you could reactively move your chin out of that strikes arc however you wanted. I still think it felt better.

Don't get me wrong, the new patch especially has made head movement feel really good in UFC.
And MMA Striking and pure boxing are two completely different beasts.

But I still think FNC has the best headmovement system I've ever used. It still to this day feels utterly amazing.

I really wish EA would just remaster it. There's a crowd for it, and the game still looks and runs really well to this day. All they need to do is buff it up to 1080p/4k and up it to 60fps if possible, slap all the DLC in and wham.bam.thankyou mam.

I'd buy 3 copies myself I would sir.

I wonder if they'd have to buy all the likeness rights or something again?
Or maybe it'd hurt the relationship with the UFC?? I Dunno, there has to be a reason its never happened.

I have suggested a 60FPS remaster as well. I don't have any insider info, but I imagine it's almost definitely a license expiry issue for the fighters.

A side note - in this patch, GPD tuned the head movement to flow better into each other, even the major slips. I definitely recommend going into practice mode and programming the AI to throw combos, and then see what you can do. I was surprised. You can pull off some Anderson / Mayweather level stuff.

It feels a lot closer to FNC for me now.

          Yes.

In more detail, an upper into a straight can be done quickly against a back slip. But if you go with an upper-hook, then the back slip is enough to warrant a pull counter. My recommendation is to always side sip and then attack, after dodging an upper with a back slip, because this allows you to beat any follow up by the opponnet. The downside of this option is that if the opponent doesn't follow up from the upper, you'll give him time to block your counter.

BTW, I don't have these guidelines in muscle memmory, yet. Not even close. I'll need a lot of practice to become fluent in this in the game.

That's good advice zombie... I'll lab it in practice mode tonight. Any advice on some combos I can lab that will give me a good feel of what the new head movement can do?
