Live Event Competition for UFC 225?!

The best game-mode in UFC 3 .... is the least utilized ... the LEC.

I believe it's the best test of skill and outright determination. Everyone has even stats, and just a couple mistakes can ruin a win-streak you spent hours putting together. Very stressful, dramatic, and fun!, sort of like how Marathons are fun ...

So....will there be an LEC this weekend?

If the answer is Yes ---- awesome! ---- how come it hasn't been announced? Need to build the hype and get people ready to play to make it the most entertaining/get most participation.

if the answer is No --- ?!?!?!?!?!?! --- why??? --- this is a pretty big card, Romero vs. Whittaker would be a fun match, we just had a nice patch that fixed some problems (and removed HUD from LEC! Can't wait to test that) ---- why would we not have an LEC?

It's not like EA is giving away $10k+ like in UFC 2. I'm sure it takes a few resources to put together an LEC but....the infrastructure is there...it's probably not that difficult and expensive. You would almost think that the UFC would mandate in its contract that EA has an LEC every single PPV lol.................

so really, no excuse at all for not having an LEC this weekend....

In my opinion, there's no excuse to not have an LEC every PPV. It's a great promotional tool, it allows for a wide range of players to gather up some much needed coin for UT and gives the community a legit competition to partake in. I have nothing bad to say about how EA's been handling UFC as an IP but this is one thing that is notably lacking.

I agree I don't know why we don't have them constantly. They are a ton of fun, a great way to get coins/packs in UT, and make for great competition. There should definitely be one every PPV. I can't see an excuse why they don't do more of these.

We've only had one (correct me if I'm wrong) since the game came out... Why is this?

I think literally everybody in the player base would vote to have more of these...

They need to make them last longer than a weekend too imo. Im usually pretty busy on weekends of big fights and I never get to play more than an hour or 2. Will be especially true this time around considering I'll be going to the event and all

LEC is shallow and terrible. There’s not enough diversity to keep it interesting for very long. The lack of promotion behind it is pretty weak so there’s no reason to invest. EA would rather give its entire player base which is small anyway, a chance at some sort of promotional prize... Be the Boss promotion let’s even the worst players have a chance and that’s probably best at this point. For competition the ESFL is a far better platform to determine the best players.

ESFL is a cool platform and I definitely support it, but:

A) There are only a few dozen folks who can fight per week (limited card space)

B) You have to be able to fight at an exact time (part of the reason I haven't joined-up....just can't make it happen on a regular basis on the nights they have cards., though I'm going to try this summer!)

C) No in-game infrastructure ---- again I love ESFL and am glad they are taking care of business on their own and not waiting around for 'official' EA support and the like --- but there's definitely something to say for being able to just login to the game and get to fighting.

So yea ---- I would say that the Top 5 ESFL guys are probably better than the Top 5 LEC guys (at times they're the same folks haha) --- but that doesn't mean LEC is junk at all

I don't even want an LEC to earn prizes haha I just want to have Even Stats (much more enjoyable playing experience IMO) --- and try out the No HUD, since it'll be a little while til I make it to Division 6 (I think they need to put No HUD to Division 5 since so few make it to Division 6 but I digress)

Anyway, sir, you are wrong, LEC rules.

Yeah I'll be pretty surprised if there isn't an LEC this weekend. If not this card, most likely UFC 226 since that's during Fight Week right?

Wish they would start them on a Monday or Tuesday and run them a full week .... When they put up the Live Event Pickem this week, but no LEC, figured it was not going to happen

I'll be out of town 4th of July aka Cormier Miocic....which they gotta do an LEC for right?....so will probably miss that......really was hoping for an LEC this weekend but so far no dice

I love GPD and a lot of the other devs and this isn't their fault

but WOW ... EA really doesn't even try anymore lol this is only one small example of them being OK with status quo and not trying to grow the game/community/sport.....oh well

I've learned not to get my hopes up and even expect and LEC. Even in UFC 2 they did them once in a blue moon.

There's no schedule to it, no way to predict when they're going to do it. One day you log on and it's just randomly there on a weekend.

They've only done 1 so far... the rose vs joanna one which was UFC 223. There were a ton of awesome ones they could have done before that too. But they just randomly chose that one. Then nothing.

If they were going to do one for Romero vs Whitttaker it would be this weekend and there's nothing so far saying it's going to happen. Still mind randomly pop up though without warning as they've done in the past hah. Or maybe they'll do it next weekend... but doubtful. When they do it it's always the weekend of the fight.

I don't get why they dont do them more I really don't. The vast majority of the community loves them. Those that don't can simply just not enter and go on as usual.

P.S. You can't compare the LEC's to ESFL. First off the lec's are in game and simple to join and play. It's a whole process to get a fight on an esfl card. Secondly, ESFL is really only for the top top guys. The lec's allow for everyone to participate, not just the top 20, and they can do so easily and with rewards. They're not even close to the same.
