I really, really hope this idea is possible to implement before EA UFC 3 ends its patch cycle. In my honest opinion, this would give it infnite amounts of replayability.
Hear me out guys.
Currently we have a FTF system that has 3 different types of knockdowns:
Active
Alert
Severe
And obviously Knockouts
What if active knockdowns were actually "active"? See when the game was barely starting to release info prior to the beta, I actually thought active knockdowns meant knockdowns that allowed striking while the opponent covered up and scrambled to a better position. Kind of like UD3. So when the actual info and meaning got released and i found out what it meant, I was a little disappointed because I saw potential in it. However there's possibly still time. Which brings me to my point.
Here's a video showing some recent fights in the UFC with some great knockouts, notice they don't just fall and lie there like in the game. They either cover up or scramble dramatically to escape or get themselves in a better position, simply just survive. (Originally my plan was to get some gifs in here as well, but my laptop is being a pain so this will have to do.)

Notice also how the camera acts irl. I'd love to see the camera "snap" that we have in the game COMPLETELY GONE. Perhaps tune the zoom a little bit, maybe have the zoom happen random?

Fast forward to 9:17, zoom in does happen sometimes in real fights. Also fighter goes completely limp. FULL RAGDOLL.
2 games that replicated this pretty well are the ones that have already been talked about in these forums for good reason. UD3 and EA SPORTS MMA. These games had really good looking FTF/TKO scenarios, they didn't really have any delay whatsoever. It felt fluid finishing someone, or going for the finish succeeding or not. The animations looked realistic, and just felt right. Here are two videos just to prove my point further.

Heavy ragdoll state/complete ragdoll while downed fighter is finished while unconscious. Brutal but beautiful. We can only do this in the game with glitches so far... Imagine the possibilities.

Hardly any delay in the FTF moments, and fluidity is key here. I know there's some unrealistic aspects like too many strikes being landed on a fighter getting finished etc. but you get the point you know?
This should happen when an active knockdown occurs. Bring in more animations for when they fall, so they don't land sitting down all the time. Of course bring in some realistic finishing mocap from what I showed above in the first video. This should all be interactable, in a sense where the DOM fighter is able to throw different strikes to finish, and the SUB fighter has movement, sways, blocking etc. to survive. I really do think EA UFC 3 would benefit greatly from this. Also of course, FULL RAGDOLL KNOCKOUTS with proper weight.
Edit: The only reason why I bring this up is because the developers have showed an insane amount of work and dedication in these patches. ESPECIALLY GPD. He even said anything is possible. So I like to remain hopeful for this game before I even start looking at the future, UFC 4.
