Not to mention, when you are 6’1 fighting 5’6 guys, just because you are “skinner” (Jesus, people: SKINNIER) doesn’t mean you don’t have the same or more muscle displaced around your longer body frame.

Were you clearly much stronger or was your technique much better? Being taller doesnt necessarily give you more leverage in grappling situations especially considering having a higher center of gravity can be a bad thing.

Also being taller plus the same weight you’d have to have a much lower body fat % in order to have the same muscle mass.

That said at the end of the day it’s a case by case thing. Zhabit is clearly a great grappler and hasnt looked weak at all.

Being too tall can be bad, especially for low takedowns. Although, for reasonably taller fighters in terms of connecting your hands under the butt and clinch positions on the cage, there is almost no disadvantage. This includes throws and trips. You can hoist that underhook and use your longer legs to catch their leg.

Also, these fighters aren’t always the same weight regardless of weight class as we all know. I’m not saying that Zabit cuts more weight but it certainly is possible.

Yup exactly what I was trying to explain to this Ultras123 dude. I'm a shorter stockier guy and i've trained with a few skinny dudes that look similar to Zabit. Sure they were very skinny and lighter weight than me, but they were still very physically strong. Like I couldn't just overpower them or anything just because I was stockier. I'm like 210lbs and I remember training with this one lanky dude in particular, that was about 150lbs. He was tall and skinny, but dude felt strong as hell when grappling in the clinch and on the ground.

From my own experiences, it’s much harder to wrestle a short stockier guy than a lanky skinny guy (u don’t even see much of this body type in wrestling). I’m about 5,8 myself 150 lb and when I wrestle someone who could be 5,5 160 lb they feel much much stronger than someone say 5,11 160 would be..

Im starting to feel like a 7 page long arguement over how strong skinny guys are is really sabotaging the integrity of this discussion.

Well when it comes to wrestling, yh shorter guys are a bit tougher cuz its hard to get in on them with that low center of gravity they have. So if they have good td defense, getting the td is tough. But I can say for certain i've grappled some strong skinny dudes too.

Zabit IRL is a skinny skinny skinny dude.

Curly, poofy, messy hair. Tall, skinny, lanky physique.

In the game though, he's a beef cake, and has some weird Beatles looking straight hair. Doesn't look quite right.

Honestly the more I look up pictures of him, the more I feel like they seriously missed the mark on this character model.

Now please don't take this the wrong way, because I am having a blast playing as him, but hopefully they can tweak his character model to look more realistic. If they went as far as updating Ngannou not once, but twice, hopefully they can get Zabit looking right also.
Just want to bump this so it doesn't get lost on the last page for no one to see.

lol...this conversation has gotten pretty out there.

                    1. Skinny doesnt = weak
                    2. In grappling height differentials can work either way. You need to develop a style that takes takes advantage of your body type.
                    3. Zabit strength doesnt seem to be an issue
                    4. Zabhit model looks a bit thicker. It could be the Serra effect. There was a version of Undisputed where he looked so damn fat. Serra was on record to say that they did his body when he was up in weight. This could explain a few athletes that look a bit plump.

Now back on topic. Zabit is a hammer and the more I play him in game and watch video of him. Especially knowing his coaching pedigree it is clear he is a special athlete. There is no area he isnt proficient in.

Ok...now I feel less crazy after finding these few clips. I did not want to directly say that Zabhit has the best skill set I have ever seen irl, but I would say that him and DJ are a tie for best skill set I have ever seen in MMA. he is flashier

I was just re-watching some clips i have to post. In his last fight he fought with a broken hand. The even more amazing thing is that when you look at when dude walked him down and they just started swinging. Zabhit got in a few clean shots. I think the guy got in one clean shot on Zabit if that.

                      Fedor + Silva + Khabib + Pettis + Machida = Zabit

I usuallly am not a hype train type guy. But I am all in on this guy. When I look at a fighter I always say...what skill set would best beat this guy. There have been only two fighters I have ever seen where I say that I have no idea what it would require to beat them. DJ is one and Zabhit is the other.

Scary thing is based on an interview...there is a boarding school of Zabit's.

jesus christ dude the guy's best win is Kyle Bochniak and he was already submitted in his career. It's okay to be excited but let's not throw him into the Fedor and Silva lot until he gets a few solid top wins.

Your level of competition matters significantly, look at Doo Hoo Choi who looked like an absolute killer till he started fighting top guys like Swanson and Stephens.

I get your point because he hasn’t faced the elite yet. But my eyes don’t lie and I am not the only one.

Let’s take Doo Hoo Choi he has never demonstrated in any of his lower level fights skills at the level of Zabit. Guys can show power or speed and people can get hype, but Zabit is showing pure skill and lots of it.

Take for example Uriah Hall. He looked like a world beater but if you watched closely you saw the holes. Zabit is a different animal. I had some worries about his boxing skills based off of his last fight the broken hand explained it all. Plus watching his hands in other fights.

I am on the Zabit train. If I am wrong I will be the first to say I missed the mark. Like I said I thought this but didn’t want to say it because it sounds crazy, but after hearing lots of others say the same I let the craziness rip.

Yh I agree we have to wait and see about Zabit. He hasn't fought any top guys yet, but he's looked good so far and definitely looks like he could be something special. Time will eventually tell if the hype is real or not.
