    My only (small) issues with AI

    First of, the AI has made significant improvements and I’m aware that most top 100 ranked players understand the game at such a fundamental level that fighting the AI is still relatively easy unless you impose certain rules (boxing with nate diaz for example). Overall though I learn a lot from playing with AI that I carry into online play.

    There are only three issues i have with the Ai;

    1. The AI bites on pressure a lot. What I mean is that if you step forward into their striking range and out, they will usually throw stationary strikes and gas themselves out. This can be exploited to beat most fighters.

    2. The Ai seems to throw perfectly timed counters that can easily end a fight. For example, I can throw a body kick and the AI will perfectly time a high kick. Or if I duck, a perfectly timed uppercut. This is the only part that feels a little cheap, I do use feints.

    3. The grappling feints are great but still pretty easy to deny, ai should throw more strikes to build up ga like most players do in online.

    Overall though a significant improvement, career on legendary is fun (please add competitive hud)

    Thanks for the feedback!

    1) I agree that the AI is currently too easy to bait into wiffing with decent footwork. It's an ongoing challenge to get them to better understand their range and different range-based striking options without being too robotic or random.

    2) The perfectly timed counters are not quite as intentional as people think, but I do admit that the AI likely executes them in such a way more often than players would. The AI does indeed know about the striking windows (it has to) but doesn't abuse that information. I think what people pick up on over time is that the AI, while it does make mistakes, doesn't make as many small mistakes as a player would. Where players would perhaps try to counter, or maybe even just get (un)lucky with a random strike, the AI is more calculated so it doesn't have quite as organic a performance. Their mistakes seem more intentional than accidental (because they are), and their victories can seem more inhuman than skillful. It's really hard to shake that feeling, and definitely hard to make the AI never give it in the first place.

    3) The AI's understanding of efficient use of grappling, especially ground and pound, is indeed another on-going battle. The AI is able to function in the space reasonably, but its ability to intelligently string together the different mechanics in a human-like way is definitely still lacking. It's a much more complicated space than standing, to be honest.

    Thanks again for the feedback. It's always helpful to get player insight to help steer the AI.

      How do you usually execute the whiff baiting? Just walking back and forth with high block?

        yep just walk in and out of boxing range/kicking range while holding block. Works especially well after they have already thrown an initial strike. They tend to throw stationary strikes, I think this could be solved by giving them more moving strikes. I went 46-0 in career mode on legendary using a high stamina build and even when i was outstatted I could just do this and the ai would gas out.

          Tyron Woodley Legendary AI just moves backward and lets you repeatedly punch him in the face because he doesn't block. He magically counters you but if you're patient you just 1 - 2 him until he collapses.

            Yeah, my feedback here is that it’s way too easy to just go in and out with
            1-2s and other strikes against the AI and be successful.
