SIMPLE UNIVERSE MODE
Or if this is too much for devs and they want to start small. Universe mode could just be saved rosters with rankings. When you do an event or play now you can have the choice for it to save to the universe rankings.
This would be enough for them to check the box and then say ok next version we will do more depth.
Is that too much?

In a strange way I kind of want them to smart small. Give us something like this and add injuries with fighters turning down fights every so often and if their feeling froggy, have a system of fighters retiring and new fighter CAF's with a realistic system of progression and deterioration based on the fight outcomes and talent levels.
Is that too much?

Actually,
They should do BOTH.
My simple universe mode should not be that hard to pull off. The can then have another mode - Be the Boss which would be the more complex mode that would involve making PPV sales and signing fighters. etcComment

Like MacGowan said, this dream simulation you are all thinking of already exists. A lot of the features in this thread are pipe dreams though. Things like fully immersive 3D fan-viewing experiences with meaningful fan interaction would require massive resources for little reward. If you are into that you should look into the virtual reality stuff that let you watch real events from the crowd. I'm pretty sure that at least NBA provides it.
Simulation games are a pain to develop. There's a reason why Football Manager (unanimously considered to be better than whatever FIFA tries annually) barely has animations. You could do a more casual manager simulation (That wouldn't require hiring medical staff among things though) but the issue with UFC doing that is that there's only one in-game company and that's UFC. In FIFA you compete against dozens of teams (and possibly leagues) while in old Rasslin' games' GM mode there were two brands that competed against each other for ratings. Simulation mode isn't particularly fun if you do not compete against anyone and I don't see the devs getting away with giving UFC rival companies.¯\_(ツ)_/¯Comment

Dont get me wrong:
I WANT A UNIVERSE MODE. I REGULARLY SEND THE DEVS COMMENTS ABOUT UNIVERSE MODE. I REGULARLY SEND THE DEVS LINKS TO THREADS ABOUT UNIVERSE MODE. IVE BEEN PUSHING FOR IT FOR ALMOST 4 YRS NOW.
With that said, I think we should be somewhat conservative in what we expect to get. I think the best comparison would be WWE Smackdown v. Raw 2011. That was the first WWE game with a Universe mode. Here is what it had:
- A calendar
- Rankings
- Sim Engine
- News section
- A card/matches section
The good news is that UFC 3 already has a few of these things. The sim engine is currently in the Tournaments mode and I'm hoping that can be moved over. The card section is in Custom Events. A calendar shouldn't be that hard to create and you should be able to book fights months out. Rankings will require a bit of programming and a new UI but there are rankings in career mode so I'm assuming those assets can also be used. A news section with a fight history database is necessary imo.
Anything else would just be icing on the cake for me.Comment

I understand that but you also have to be a bit realistic. The team isnt the biggest. There are other modes that will likely be added or improved. Also as popular as Universe mode is at OS, there are still a good amount of people here who have no idea what this mode would be or who could care less.

50-100 CAF slots to create future fighters and place them in Universe mode and other modes
or
A system where the CPU creates the new random fighters but you are stuck with the same 22 CAF slots for your entire universe.Comment

If I'm being honest I hate the process of creating fighters. The time it takes to make them look and fight unique while still realistic is a pain to me.
So that one is tough for me but I'd side with more slots.

Given the options the first one but...

I know I am asking for waaaay to much but sharing community creations or even rosters like WWE and MLB games would be great.
I guess what we are asking for is a game that plays like a 2015-18 sports title instead of something from the late 90'sComment
