I can see where MMAGAME's coming from, and Holbert playing devil's advocate.
Whenever I play with friends (couch) we all start off with CAFs having the same amount of points, moves, perks to pool from (creating different characters).

My impression of ranked is that you basically end up fighting the same top 3 fighters in their respective weightclasses.

Is that true? The comp modes in games like NBA 2k are based on characters that you create (ex. the NBA2k league). With Madden, I think its based on UT (at least thats what I saw in the Madden Bowl). Same with FIFA.

I dont really care one way or the other but Game put forth the argument that this is what people wanted and he had data that supports it so I was interested in what this community would want.

I know Madden used to be real teams but I wouldnt be surprised if they switched it to UT

I know both of their ranked modes consist of real teams.

I like the equal stats for tournaments but we have LEC for that.

Then when you look at other fighting game there are always S and A tier characters and then you have B,C and sometimes D,F tier characters.

I'm not playing devil's advocate here. I understand what Game wants. I just think he is overestimating how many people want Ranked to become equalized stats only.

His original pitch was to get rid of stats from the whole game and I lost my ****. LOL. Ranked doesnt effect me because I'm an offline gamer. I'm just not convinced that this is what most online ranked gamers want.

I can't stand the way he plays, saw his videos and though he was kinda spammy with the pressure fighting and then I fought him lol. Maybe he's better now.

No, he's not any better. When I fought him while the clinch was buffed to super speeds, he just kept trying to abuse that mechanic. I ended up knocking him out.

Combat sports are interesting largely because its two fighters who bring unique strengths and weaknesses to the arena, and we get too find out how that looks when they clash.

MMAGAME spouting off heresy as far as I'm concerned.

I've heard him mispronounce popular fighters names which seems weird to me, but he seems like a funny good dude.

It is strange his poll got the complete opposite resault as the forums tho.

What does that mean? We got a bunch of hardcores on the forum, and his channel is most likely casuals?

I dont know if hardcore/casuals is the right way to describe it. Maybe its realism/competitive.

For example, lets say I lose to Khabib and my opponent just continues to take me down time after time. I'm a realism junkie so I would be fine with it because the fight played out how it would in real life.

Game would look at it as Khabib being OP and wonder if the person he fought wouldve beat him if it wasnt for Khabib's grappling stats advantage.

I've spent almost 4 yrs hearing ranked online players say similar things. When they complain about losing its always because someone or something is OP and "bums" or "scrubs" are using them to get wins. I dont play enough ranked to know if its true or not but I do know that its a regular excuse behind a loss.

Equalized stats will make it so that complaint is either minimized or eliminated. you cant claim a fighter is OP if they have the same stats and perks. You could complain about the moveset differences but thats a different argument.

Dudes with that mindset are always going to find excuses for their losses

Once it’s not ratings it’ll be movesets. If that’s equal it’ll be height/ reach. If that’s equal the other guy must have a 1ms monitor and special controller.
