Not sure I understood that - the development team wants someone to give input for perks, yet they don't contact you to help them out with that?

Perks and Stats are completely different. They know Yves and I watch every card and a stat change can be motivated by a single fight (**** a single round). So our input is more important there.

Perks are typically motivated by a number of fights. For example, if someone has 10 fights and in one fight he has dominant top control the entire fight, that doesnt mean that he automatically deserves a Crushing Presence perk.

Also the guy who manages stats has been a dev that has been pretty active in our chat and in seeking our input. The guy who does perks and movesets hasnt. That's 100% his right. I think we could help but if he thinks he has a handle on it, he has every right to handle it the way he sees fit.

I think he just means he is officially a key figure in stat decisions (which is why his suggestions are either implemented or he is offered an explanation why it is not) but for the perks EA told the Gamechangers "we are open for suggestions" but none of their suggestions ever get into the game and they never get explanations why they don't since they are not officially "perk people".

Also on the topic of art updates, I still would love an updated Yoel Romero model, he looks like a small middle-weight right now.

Yeah, 10-8 rounds for grappling should be a thing. I don't know what else they can change that can make a significant difference, since they can't overhaul the whole thing. I wonder why is half-guard easier to hold than full mount. By the way, I watched Martial Mind's videos using Kid Yamamoto in UD3 - I have never played that game, haven't even followed it, I did not have a PS3 or an X360 - loved how the grappling looks, damn. So quick, so fluid, how he took the opponent's back from clinch was incredible, no way you can do that **** right now. Then knees from Back Side. The movement on the ground, getting rocks there, etc, etc. I hope for the next game they really use that game to learn and to even build on what they learn.

Yh same here. Imo it's kinda a blueprint for them. The devs have done well and have already got some things in from UD3, but they need to add more specifically from the grappling. There was just so much more possible compared to EA UFC. Different types of driving td's, more ground and cage positions, rocks on the ground, interactive tko states, catching strikes into sub attempts from bottom, ect. It just felt more complete and more like mma cuz of all the things possible in gameplay. So when EA UFC came out, it was almost kind of a culture shock so to speak, cuz its like we downgraded and went back to basics. Of course the devs had to start from scratch so this was understood. My hope is that UFC 4 gets things done though and finally beats UD3 in all areas.

There are things like more positions/rocks on the ground/struggle TDs that they should absolutely consider for UFC 4......as long as they are within the current system. The last thing they should do is revamp grappling again and start from scratch.

Yh that's what I meant. Add these stuff in and put their own twist on it so it fits the current grappling system.

Would be a good start in the next patch if we got basic things like a better animation for over/under to combat over-aggression like in reality.



The game is geared towards punching with the extreme punishment for kicks relative punching but little to punish punching besides running/evading which is not as strong a counter as grappling naturally is.

There is even a parry in that gif without the freeze and free hit. But because how terribly it was implemented we may never see it again.

What about revamping/reintroduce things they already had in the game but were done poorly so they removed them? The two main techniques that suffered from this were parrying and shifting footwork.

I'm happy with them but that doesnt mean much because I'm easy to please.

I'm hoping Adesanya got in this time. He would be a fun addition to middleweight.

Oddly enough, middleweight has a few guys that I would have thought would be in through 3 generations of the game but have slipped through the cracks.

Thiago Santos and Antonio Carlos Junior come to mind. I wouldn't mind having Anthony Smith either because he can bolster MW and LHW for my offline purposes.

Nikita Krylov would be nice to have back too.

I agree. There's a lot of great potential in this grappling system, it just feels very neglected at this point.

Not to mention the innital obstacles (control scheme, slow animations, false positives) that turn people off from wanting to learn it. further exacerbating the issue.

I just realized something after playing the game, why can’t we drop down for takedown against the cage from the clinch position? The default take attempt against cage should replace the judo throw from clinch, and add it to high level grapplers.

I am also hoping for more grappling and transition animations like from the cage sit down position
