You'll always have good grip on submissions, Rubber Guard and transition blocks both on the clinch and the ground during the first minutes of the fight since both of the fighters will be dry so leg locks, and choke submissions will be harder to defend against and even improving your chances of getting an arm trap on your opponent while he's trying to use some ground and pound.
But once both of the fighters start sweating on the second and third round it gets more difficult to block transitions, lock submissions but it makes transitions go faster since both bodies will be slippery do to the sweat and blood.
It sounds like a simple detail but it will add realism and dynamism to our sluggish and stationary grappling mechanics.
Chain wrestling by rotating the right stick while attempting a takedown:
The main flaw with the wrestling on this game is the lack of an ofensive/defensive minigame when attempting or defending a takedown wich makes the wrestling boring and sometimes the fighters look like they teleport from one position to another after a sprawl. so why don't we use thehe analog stick rotation minigame?
Let's assume that the developers were kind enough to implement it and you just shot for a double leg and your opponent is trying to sprawl by rotating his right stick faster than yours but you want to have some extra time to land the takedown.
There should be a small time frame where you should be able to transition into a single leg takedown from a double leg takedown or viceversa after pressing the L1 button plus a stick rotation. This should have a significant stamina tax but a slightly higher success rate to balance it out.
Clinch physics:
Right now the clinch grappling is stationary and we urgently need to be able to move forward or backwards in the clinch with different physics.
If fighter A is trying to push fighter B forward while being in the clinch your punches, knees and elbows should have a slight increase on damage with a small stamina tax due to force being used to push the opponent forward but you will be exposing yourself to get taken down with a Judo hip throw since hip throws are done by using you're opponent's own weight and force against them like Rousey did against Tate multiple times in their second fight.
On the the other side the fighter pushing backwards inside of the clinch should gain grappling advantage for the clinch break transition, a slight defensive boost against punches, a higher chance of catching knee strikes but weaker against Judo trips due to the backwards movement of the feet.
Simplifying grappling commands to make it easier for new players:
I'm not gonna go into details for this one:
R2 + Right Stick Flick: Reversal.
Holding the right left or right depending on where your opponent tries to go: Transition Block
I apologize if it's hard for you to read since English ain't my first language but I would like to know what do you think about these ideas.
