They aren't theatrics, rather a genuine response from my lizard brain. The point is, you can always ignore the "theatrics" and respond to the actual argument.

I get that you don't like the " under the hood " mechanics but once you learn them they are very simple and learning them just takes a little bit of effort and investigation. You are obviously having trouble applying them or avoided grappling in UFC 2 and that's why you don't know them/aren't good at them.

I can agree that it's not as easy as it could be to learn what you need to learn but if you really wanted to you could do it. You could read the deep dives, look on the forums, test it yourself or seek out experienced players for help. If you're not learning from losing then you aren't trying to learn and obviously from the nature of your posts you're getting mad instead.
Just curious myself but where can we find these Deep Dives?

To be honest, I had a pretty similar response as the OP. I'm generally good at games especially MMA games but I was actually below average in UFC 3. There were so many unexplained gameplay mechanics that I felt overwhelmed. Where do I go for information? Generally for games like this, I can hop on google and find guides or dig through reddit threads. But this game didn't really have much

One specific example is the guard break. It was so frustrating when I first got the game. I'd play against a complete noob spammer and I'd bait him, land a huge counter and rock him. But I couldn't finish him.

I hopped on this forum and actually found out how to guard break. After that, I went on 10+ win streak in ranked (was 1-1 ratio before then). I quit to play other games and jumped back to see the guard break was changed. Or at least my combo didn't break guard at all. Now I was back to square 1 + all the new mechanics I had to learn. Do I want the game to be shallow? Hell no! I love the depth

But where the hell do I go to learn how it works? If UFC 3 was simply complex, that'd be awesome but it's convulted for most players. Things aren't explained very well

          Classic Operation Sports Thread.

A guy give an opinion then is railed for giving an opinion by the "regulars". I noticed a dude got banned for pointing out someones bad behavior. But the dude who is being less than nice stays.

          Nothing to see here.

I feel bad for the OP who thinks he is talking to rational people

Whilst there's no doubt the OP took a few unnecessary shots, each example he provided me of under the hood mechanics, wasn't really under the hood at all and in fact, time spent playing the game would allow one to easily understand the mechanics at play. It's not perfect, but it's a system that does work. He's not invested enough time by the sounds of it and has no interest in doing so. So people see it as nothing but a bitch when he makes a thread like this (one with no obvious point in regards to improving the game).

Not for anything, but you should not be investing time to understand mechanics. The time should be to understand things like timing and strategy. They did a horrible job of explaining how things worked.

The mere fact that he is "bitching" about not knowing the artificial rules of the game is a problem. They should be in practice mode, skill challenges or tutorials. In this game you have to go to website and talk to some very condescending gamers to figure out the basic systems of the game. TBH to get to lvl 5 is really just about learning all the under the hood mechanics. Getting further up to top 100 and to lvl 6 might be much the same.

The mods here are very "good" at sniffing out the elements that make the website stall.

For example, I was once banned for mentioning the name of a political figure. The ban made 100% sense because mentioning politics will destroy the site. Good thing I did not get a warning because I would have complained here and made things worse.

However, other members troll thread relentlessly and dont get banned, not because they are game changers or anything unfair like that. No they are not banned because despite trolling they are not breaking any rule. That makes tons of sense and has added to the overall value of the forum.

I hope this is only interpret as a compliment to the mods. I know that mods would never ban someone for being critical of their moderation because that would be draconian and sadly unfair. The mods have never shown that type of behavior. As people are treated fair, equally, and not like subservient children.

                  Thanks
