Grappling Stamina vs Striking Stamina

Would everyone prefer if grappling stamina matched striking stamina in principle? As usual bolded TL;DR at bottom

Please feel to correct anything I’m saying that’s inaccurate.

Short term striking stamina:
Slight speed/reduction until you’re “gassed” (I believe around 15% of short term stamina)
Long term stamina drain increases the lower short term stamina is.
Vulnerability is severely increased when lowered

Long term striking stamina:
Slight speed/power reduction. Doesnt become severe until around lowered to around 40%.
Vulnerability is severely increased when lowered

The way stamina works with striking is that you can still do damage and maintain some speed until it’s gets pretty low. However You are more vulnerable and run the risk of big damage.

The way grappling stamina currently works IMO it plays waaay too big of a role in transition speed/denial. Transitioning at even 80% short term stamina makes a huge difference in transition speed. Short term stamina should work just like it does for striking.

Have a slight reduction in transition speed until you “gas” (stamina bar flashing). This would help speed up the ground game a bit since getting denied once wouldnt mean you have to always sit and wait for temporary stamina to recover.

To balance the change, have lower short term stamina play a larger role in submissions. This would mimic the severe vulnerability seen on the feet and makes sub specialists more dangerous.

TL;DR - Lower the impact of temporary stamina on transition speed. Increase impact of temporary stamina for submissions. This would mimic the way striking stamina works

Since it basically a kickboxing game, the ground game needs to be modified more in the aspect of stamina, it feels like there’s no reason to take it to the ground due to unbalanced stamina scenarios...
NO ONE EVER POST a awesome ground exchange due to the lack of positions but also due to the stamina game still feels unbalanced and slow.
Just my opinion...?

When you have a rocked opponent( not severely rocked tho ) once you take them down ...the grappling stamina kicks in giving them a kick in stamina ...as against standing where their stamina would be temporarily depleted . This should carry on to the canvass in my opinion .

Wish I'd saved my match earlier with Diaz. Fight went to the ground and I submitted opponent with two gate Omplata from Rubberguard.

Been trying to replicate this in practice mode but keep getting five gates. Anyone know what determines the two gate subs?

I've always disliked that too.

When I drain someone's stamina and finally get them to the round - I don't expect that as soon as their back hits the canvass, they get a sudden surge of energy again. Back to square one.

You gotta fight someone like Papadoc or Advaita. Papadoc will take you down and almost never let you up, and in the process will chip away at your health making you more vulnerable in the later rounds while draining your stamina from denials.

I do want an overall improvement to grappling though, it feels outdated at this point

I feel like the most important ground tip is become a master of denials. I am decent on the ground but that is usually the death of me when someone denies literally everything including my transition fakes when I flick the stick for a millisecond.

I swear I didn't even know as ...I thought when the pad vibrates when your opponent hasn't transitioned that was it .

Yep, I have the same monitor as Romero does now I believe. I got a monitor around season 4. The biggest difference for me was when I upgraded my internet service and switched to a wired connection.

https://www.youtube.com/user/docster..._as=subscriber ( my youtube channel, although I don't upload to it often I can start uploading my fights if there's any interest )

I just have a regular PS4, it usually sounds like it's about to explode because it's old as dirt though.
