    Blocked side kicks should not push you back, or push back very little

    This strike has a lot less risk now and its not easy to cue up side movement since to dodge it you need to be out of range or side slip. The openings after side slipping arent that good either unless you want to go for takedowns.

    IMO, they should push back. It annoys me, but it is what it is. Sometimes it doesn't push back that far.

    Side lunge it kills it. Slightly moving to the side makes them miss unless they're moving with it.

    But the Side Lunge is the way to go. Trust me.

      You don’t need any sort of range to avoid these kicks. Just flick your stick left or right and you get a free straight punch.

      I don’t know what you’re talking about with side slipping as you can’t avoid push kicks to the body with head movement.
