So for a more vivid example, a fighter like Cro Cop on his back in half guard would only have transition left or right to full guard and the getup. He's basic on the ground so he wont have that kind of stuff, while a fighter like Werdum would have transition left or right to full guard and unique transition to back take or getup by holding modifier. He's an elite grappler, so he'll have moves like that. That's the kind of thing we're getting at. Doing things this way will help separate the elite ground guys from the basic even further, the way it should be.
Yep, I realize that and that's what I was getting at by saying that back side is the transition they will have if they don't have a higher grappling skill. Being able to slip out to back side is basically just an escape for someone that isn't interested in grappling (which they likely aren't if they aren't using someone with the back sitting transition from submissive half guard).

I get your point though, but the way submissive half guard is set up right now is you're either going to try to get back to guard, perform a get up, or try to sweep them (go out the back door to back side or back sitting) and this makes it a more dominant position for the top player.

Half guard can be a very dominant position in MMA for grapplers with strong top pressure and/or ground and pound like if you watch Lesnar vs Mir 2. This is more pronounced when the grappler on top can keep their opponent flattened out. I think the limitations for that position in the game do it justice in that regard, but I respect your opinion.

Isn't there a contextual transition where if HG Top tries to pass to Side Control and HG Bottom goes for Back Side at the same time, HG Bottom gets the back?

Wrestled in highschool and college. Do a little bjj now for fun, so not the most experienced mma grappler, but I'll throw in my opinion if anyone cares.

Number one thing for me is there is no hand control, or arm/leg control at all. This is a very difficult one to replicate with a game controller i know. You can't even block strikes from postured down, even if they don't really do any damage, only build GA... Still, a big part of BJJ for me especially is using my body to distract, and we just can't remotely do that.

Which leads me to the next point, postured down strikes do no damage. I've seen people get finished from strikes to the ribs in half-guard postured down.

There are so few positions. In reality, there are so many in-between positions that you can get stuck in or hold to either recover a bit of stamina or wait for your opponent to try to change position and then go for the position you actually want.

I'd like some head movement on the ground. avoiding postured strikes now is sometimes very difficult against high level guys. Not something i really deal with in my actual grappling except there are times when i look up at a person posturing and think, 'man its a good thing we are just grappling or I'd really have to be careful in this position.'

clinch is just so flat, but to a certain extent i'm realistic about what is possible with a controller, so i'm not expecting perfection.
