how do u play UT specialist against UT strikers/brawlers/balanced.. is it balanced?

how are mortals (DIV3,4) suppose to play specialist in UT, when u got 2 arm slots and 1 leg slot on golden specialist


first i put everything in block, which resulted in being chased down with hooks and destroyed


now i put everything into footwork so i can at least get away a little bit
so stats are something like this:


69 speed, 65 power, 93 footwork, 67 accuracy, 71 switch, 66 block, 75 headmovement


so i am doing something wrong or how u suppose to create opportunity for takedowns, because for sure u cant pressure striker to cage, and they will deny almost all TD attempts or clinch attempts


and also they wont be missing any kicks so there goes that



so how re u suppose to create any TD opportunity when opponent will be sitting on clinch/TD denial, not missing any kicks, cant get him to cage for cage TDs.. how will u deal with this situation?

Only played a little ultimate team, but can you not play with other fighters whilst ranking this specialist fighter up? Like to the point where he's 90 on everything?

Not really ideal I know, but perhaps a less frustrating path to your goal.

Nope, you only ever have a limited number of slots for cards on your fighter. So it's not possible to ever get to 90 on everything even if you have the best cards in the game. I like that to an extent because it means you never have super OP characters like in UFC 2, but it also feels very unfair when you play against a brawler/striker as a grappler.

Even a 4 star specialist is tough because a 4 star grappler can have the same grappling stats but with better standup. Only use a specialist to get the dailies. If you are hell bent on using one, I would get speed and power as high as possible and look to get over/under as much as possible.

Yeah, UT seems a joke this game. UFC 2 UT was my ranked. I loved having my own CAF, creating the perfect moveset and working on improving the levels of the moves and upping my stats.

Thus times it’s basically ranked, roster fighters everywhere, I think I played 5 matches and haven’t touched it since. Trying to strike or grappler vs a roster fighter or the opposite style, grappler vs striker etc was horrible. Even having the Conor card from pre-order didn’t make me enjoy it. I want a caf not a roster guy. Having only limited moves is terrible as well. Try and build yourself a GSP moveset. Good luck, you’ll get maybe half his moves if you’re lucky

I put a fair bit of time into it and enjoyed doing some of the challenges and having to change up slots based on certain challenges. Offline only holds my attention for a small while. After like 8 fights online and coming up against guys with 90s punching, head movement etc, it's just too much of a grind.

Always preferred Ranked.
