    Two random questions...

...that have prob already been answered.

    1) I don't see "submission/submission attempt" stats in the after action report. Do submission attempts even factor into the fght scoring?

    2) I'm probably just an idiot on this one.... I play offline event mode pretty exclusively. In between rounds I get a little coaching/corner advice text window that pops up. Is that text always directed at the player? Or is it directed to the corner the text overlays? Sometimes it seems like the text will be over my oppoents corner but whats written kinda goes along with mh performance from the round.

    Re: Two random questions...

    1) They used to and AFAIK they still affect judging.

Not as heavily as they used too and I think one good sub attempt is better than 10 first gate escapes but they do count towards scoring.

The 2ND judge in particular is extremely fond of submission attempts and grappling in general.

I do kind of hope the subs attempted stat returns. I liked it. However attempted subs are factored into the control time stat.

So working off your back with subs can rack up enough control to win a close round provided your not eating bombs.

    2) The corner advice is always directed towards the player, and is somewhat loose in its accuracy.

Don't trust them if they say your up two rounds going into the third, for example.

I wish you could turn corner advice on but keep the basic tutorials off, that'd be awesome.

It loves telling me, after i spent a round stuffing Numagomedov TD's, that i should take him down. Terrible advice lol.

The only time the advice is really accurate, are on quick fights. When Uni-Bot fought Kenetic in the ESFL Tournament Final not too long ago, the scorecards told him to switch up the game plan because he was probably down in the scorecards. Something I never see in ranked. I don't like being told "Last Round. I'm ahead in the fight" only to lose a split decision or something. Tell me the fight is too close to call.

In regards to the judging, if I'm up two rounds (based on the stats), is it possible for my opponent to do so much damage, that the scoring completely changes? Or if I have indeed won the first two rounds, have I definitely got it won, providing I don't get KO'd or tap?

Yes. it changes the score cards for the first 2 rounds. The game doesn't allow draws for some reason so they made it **** you. I had this happen yesterday. Like RomeroXII said, it will tell you that you are ahead an then you lose the last round 10-8 and lose the fight, however the devs had admitted that in the event of a draw it can change the judging on the first couple rounds.

I've tested this pretty thoroughly and the short answer is Yes, but not enough to cost you the fight.

The long answer is, if you solidly won the first two rounds then there is not much chance of you losing, but one of the judges may change their score so that the game will give a split or majority decision that you will win.

What I did was win two rounds 10-9 red corner vs a inactive second player using grappling as you CANNOT get 10-8 rounds for dominant grappling.

Then I'd swap controllers in round 3 and knockdown the red corner as much as possible.

This always resulted in red corner winning by split or majority decision with buffer occasionally reading out 29-28, 28-28,28-28 but then calling it a Maj Dec.

Here's where things get weird though. You can score 10-7 rounds. But the game only actually seems to give them out if you've won a extremely dominant victory.

I still remember getting a 50-38 scorecard once. I have NO idea what those scores were but 5 10-8's is 50-40 so there's a 10-7 or even 10-6 in that somewhere.

I'd absolutely love to see draws incorporated into the series personally, even if they're offline only or something.

What was the reason there are no draws? Gaming the system? How can you "game" it in a way that isn't realistic? If the game scores rounds objectively how do you exploit it?

I would personally much rather have a draw than a loss.

The game definitely can change the scoring. Its easy to lab. I used diaz vs till for my example. In round 1 and 2 I had Diaz throw 7 head kicks, get one stun per round. For rounds 1 and 2 i had till throw and land 7 jabs then i stood there for the rest of the rounds. Round 3 I went crazy with till 6 stuns 2 knockdowns, 2 body health events 1 leg event. The result was 29/28 Till. There is no way he won rounds 1 and 2 with the minimal damage he did.

Scoring changes happen but rounds 1 and 2 have to be very close.

Everyone would rather draw than lose but what's the issue if that's the genuine outcome of the fight, with the game not changing the scores? If it's 10-9, 10-9, 8-10, have it as a draw. But I would like to see the reasoning behind there being no draws.

Removing the sub attempt stats annoy me to no end. It matters to the actual decision and then they removed it from the summary. what? why?

Not having draws annoy me even more. If you think people will hate draws then atleast give us the option in offline settings.

It sucks to know you might have deserved a majority draw but the computer just flips a coin behind the scenes and decides the winner.

Yeah i'd be interested to know why draws aren't possible. It happens IRL and i've had fights that were so super close with people in ufc3 that wins feel kinda undeserved every now and then.

I'll never forget my very first fight in UD3 (Jorge Rivera vs. Chris Leben...I was Jorge) ended in a draw. Such a satisfying feeling. Im getting warm and fuzzy just thinking about it.
