Re: Online ranked sim mode
The way ranked currently plays... it should be viewed as the NBA Jam of MMA.
EA MMA Jam 3 if you will. -
Re: Online ranked sim mode
Sadly, I couldn’t agree more. I feel like the way the game plays is well suited for fly-featherweight. Let’s at least make heavyweight sim. Heavyweight should be the hardest to go on a good win streak. Hell the record is 3 title defenses in real life for F sake. Make each division(or close to each) stand apart that way the player base isn’t as split between sim and comp due to weight class options. If you like endless stamina fueled slugfests play FLYW or BW. If you want cautious feint heavy high risk/reward drop fests play HW.Comment

Re: Online ranked sim mode
If not for ranked at least for quick match.
imo sim should be the base game (ranked, quick match, offline etc) and there should be an option for arcade in quick match.Comment

Re: Online ranked sim mode
Most people have proposed this, Undisp 3 had it.
The concern is splitting the player base between those who want it and don't.
I don't think it should be primary rank play, although I would love it. I have always been a sim advocate, but I know the risk of realism in games for the more casual play,
I will say one thing, if you look back on EA UFC 3 history. The games have improved so much each time, one of the biggest reasons has always been a push for a more realistic MMA sim experience. Grappling has become much more dynamic, and recent patches show an interest in created a unison with grappling and striking to form MMA fighting, rather than two separate modes. Movement has become more significant, although there's always room for improvement, than the two previous games. A lot of the gimmecks like Parry-counter windows, spinning kicks having insane dodge windows and combo multipliers are gone. Lastly, lower rated characters have slowly been earning greater respect, while the more popular higher ranked fighters are ranked more naturally (Conor doesnt have better ground stats than edgar)
It's so hard to watch EA UFC 1 & 2 footage now, I know people liked the combinations but I couldn't stand how bad it looked.
Let's strive to continue this direction we are going, the patches and tuners show a desired interest in balance.Comment

If the numbers plummeted then you’d know it’s not what the majority want. If it skyrocketed then maybe tune LHW the same way.Comment

Re: Online ranked sim mode
Do you mean in the current set up or with additions? As a sim mode at heavyweight cannot be done without a power modifier.Comment
