I can't use guys like Nate or Nick because my pressure fighting blows. Just not my style.

Jon has all sorts of good rangey tools though. Also good grappling. Knees n elbows. Side kick. He's got everything you'd need. Solid tool set.

I use Jones as a boring, inactive, stall-heavy wrestler. Lots of blocking, then head movement if my block starts breaking down. Knees to the body here and there, side kicks when possible. Jabs occasionally. Slide back when they try to throw a combo.

Then when I see the opening, clinch. I’ve been having a lot of luck with his over-under clinch entry, especially after swaying a strike. You don’t even need to take it to the ground because you can do just as much control and damage in the clinch as you can on the ground, and there’s less risk.

I'm honestly quite surprised that people have issues with Nate. I don't use Nate as a pressure fighter and I wouldn't really consider him one in real life either. I love his 1-2 and find it really effective if you can predict when your opponent tries to hit you. If you get a big enough window you can throw 1-2-3. The 1-2's speed and reach also make it a good whiff punish. For instance, you can land quite many 1-2s off of checked leg kicks.

Plus he has the best taunts in the game. That has to count for something.

But you gotta be careful using Jones against Gus ...in this game he will win most exchanges if you box with him .

Im almost never mashing boxing combos in this game. Looks goofy to me. Feels goofy to me. Doesn't look anything like actual boxing or MMA to me. You just dont see dudes throwing weird canned combos like that at all irl. So I mostly avoid it, to my competitive detriment.

I try to stick to smart, well timed single strikes, and 2 strike combos.

Not saying people can't throw combos irl, but it definitely doesn't look or feel like it does in this game. Stuff like the queued Jab, Hook, Upper, that is everyone go to, just looks crazy awkward to me. More so moving than stationary.

I dunno. Just not my thing.

Jon Jones is the better fighter to use at LHW.

              Good range attacks
              Solid in clinch
              Submission from back clinch
              High ground and pound.

I agree 100percent, a lot of forward moving combos look awful, I’ll accidentally throw a forward 1-2 and I’ll just immediately roll my eyes, the worst is when they are staying in your face the whole time and throwing them, feet sliding in place, looks so stupid, basically your typical meta fight, stupid kids

For Jones I try to maintain maximum range and avoid boxing exchanges, throw out a lot of push and front kicks and mix in take-downs if the opponent is really good at cutting off the cage, if they do close the gap or get you on the cage elbows and pivots are the key. Bones elbows are like most fighters hooks, crazy reach.

For the Diaz boys I just walk a mother down.
That said I try to only use them against fighters with similar reach as their style doesn't work as well against someone who gets the 2 frame pocket advantage.

Dudes throw those forward moving 1-2 combos for the entire width of the cage on some M. Bison sliding ****. It's wild.
